Sucks for Westbrook, especially he is a UCLA guy.

    One leg?

He tore some cartilage not ligaments. I played catcher in high school for three years with torn meniscus. It's all about pain and/or uncomfortable tolerance. He could still play on it the rest of the playoffs.

Having the surgery now prevents the wear and tear on the joint that would come if he did continue on it... which could cause more issues in the future. Trust me.

The Mobilehomans are outraged; it's only a dirty play is he's intentionally trying to hurt Wbrook, but that wasn't Patrick's intent.

How long do these recoveries usually take? Are they figuring they can get Westbrook in time for harder competition?

Yeah, I don't get where people are coming from with this. Certainly, the Rockets prospects have somewhat improved with this injury, but no way does this mean the Rockets are favored to win.

    1. We're still in an 0-2 hole.
    2. We still don't have homecourt advantage.
    3. They still have Durant.
    4. And they still have more talent 2-8 than we have.

Lets look position by position...assuming Lin doesn't play game 3

    C Asik vs Perkins Wash
    PF Ibaka vs Delfino Wash
    SF Durant vs Parsons Durant
    SG Harden vs Thabo Harden
    PG Beverley vs Fisher Beverly

    Bench

    G Jackson vs Brooks Wash
    G Garcia vs Martin Wash
F/C Greg Smith vs Nick Collison Collison but barely

The Rockets have some continuity and that matters A LOT in the playoffs...they know how to play without Lin. The Thunder dont know how to play without Westbrook especially during tough moments of a game, this is uncharted territory and they're gonna be depending on guys to make plays they never have like Fisher/Jackson late in games.

Their scoring should be fine with Ibaka and Martin picking up the slack but his team has a lot of holes in it's bench. They don't have nay other playmakers besides Durant now. Even Derek Fisher is more shooter than a PG.

If he is too sexy for his cat, he can be back in 13 days.

But, I'm assuming they go for long term success and don't rush him back like Artest.

WTH are you talking about! No need to get that sentimental. It wasn't intentional on Bev's part. The man was competing and an unfortunate accident has happened. It sucks, but this is a part of basketball. Assumption of risk. No one gives us two diks when Yao retired. We sucked it up and moved on.

David Stern sent Beverly in to attack Westbrook's knee so he could make sure that Lebron wins another ring.

How the **** did he play through that? Westbrook might be a bonehead but you gotta hand it to him. He is probably one of the most competitive in the league.

No way they are going to risk playing Westbrook when Presti pretty much waved the white flag for this year by trading away Harden.

The last thing they need to do is have him try to play through this and then have him then tear a ligament.

LOL... and how is he supposed to go about doing that?

He went for the ball... that's all he did. It's not on Beverley that Westbrook turned his body awkwardly, putting his leg into an on-coming player.

If anything, Westbrook got himself injured by not playing through the whistle and protecting the ball until the ref stopped play. He let up, Beverley went for it and then Westbrook spun too late.

We've got our own Manu here :p; AB probably has mixed feelings about this.

Because Lin wouldn't start for most teams.

Did you just compare Lin to Westbrook?
