Arthur Brown solves a couple of holes since he can play inside or outside. He would probably be the back up for both plus an outstanding special teamer. Armstead would start at RT and could move to LT if Brown went down. Me I'd like to be able to collapse the pocket against a double team from the NT. It exposes the QB to the pass rushers if you can force him out of there.
Maybe, seems like he's been shooting up draft boards. Scouts Inc. has him going at 52 to the Pats, and Kiper likes him at 38 to the Cards. If Hunt's gone, there's likely to be an abundance of defensive talent still available -- possibilities include aforementioned Brown, Cornelius Washington, Kevin Minter, Alex Okafor, Jesse Williams, Honey Badger, among others.
I wish the Texans would try trading a future pick for another 2nd rd pick, this is a great draft for 2nd rd talent potential... They could pick from middle linebacker, OT, S, or O LB and get 2 very good future starters from the 2nd round.
I agree, trading into the early second would be beneficial. Also, teams that have traded down this year have gotten less than "book value" in general.
I agree. They have a small window so they need to get players. Ideally I'd like them to get an upgrade at DT, a linebacker that can start, a 3rd safety that would keep Keo and Pleasant off the field and an explosive pass catching TE. They also need to get an OLman.
I'd rather get a more athletic guy personally. Kubiak's system would go nuts with a guy who could move a little.
Cody and Mitchell only played in 61% of the defensive sets last year. Maybe with a stud NT, Wade would change his ways. But maybe not. The Texans do need a NT to rotate with Mitchell. They will draft one. I just don't think it will be in the second round.
Honey Badger shouldn't go until the 3rd. I'd LOVE to end up with Jesse Williams. If we get him in the second, I don't care who else we draft, I'm happy with the first two picks. Someone to keep an eye on (although it's not a position of need) is Blidi Wreh-Wilson. He's a corner from UConn, projected for the third round. If we could get him with our third round pick, I think he'd be an excellent nickel player that could slide over to safety eventually.
