Why would I ever be on the BBS if I didn't like talking about sports? It's a slow day, both for me at work and with the Rockets, and this is the most pertinent topic. I think it should be obvious by now that I enjoy talking sports here...
Yeah, I was wrong about the NBA side of things. My apologies. Either way, it's irrelevant because there are no exclusive NBA games to stream during this trial period. (Though perhaps that's why CSN waited until now to make the "free trial" offer -- so they could say they aren't allowed to stream the games?)
It is clear where you did that cat. Very clear. A post was made that said the reason so many are upset with csn is because of the bombardment of the ad campaign. You replied that it is from both sides. Sorry man, you can support csn all you want, but you are 100% completely wrong on this one and there isn't any debate about it. csn houston has treated us like inferior people, plain and simple. The reason you haven't commented much on this thread for three hours is probably because you have been watching the game, which the rest of us on here can't do Your support of csn houston and hutchings sickens a lot of us, you might not like that statement, but it is true
Sorry, instead of ads you said "public statements." My bad. Your arrogance is becoming an issue again.
Even justtxyank is capable of admitting when he's wrong and you aren't, Beard. I'm just speaking for myself, but I could care less whether it's a 30-second paid advertisement or a newspaper quote in response to a reporter. To me, the broader question is whether the position they're articulating is an honest and legitimate one. In both cases, the answer is "no". It doesn't make a big difference to me whether it's a paid ad or a newspaper story. If it does to you, more power to you, but I think that's a fairly irrelevant distinction in the grand scheme. I know it's easier for you to comprehend if you just paint me as some deranged CSN Houston/Hutchings fan, but I don't agree with either one of them.
Problem is, it makes no difference what post you quote when you comment, you just post the same ole drivel regardless. Not sure what you are referring to when you say i can't admit when i'm wrong man, i called you out for posting that the providers were calling us out as idiots like csn was, asked for you to show where you were seeing/hearing that, and you couldn't do it. You can try to twist people's words all you want man. Fact is, I don't have to "paint you as some deranged CSN Houston/Hutchings fan", you have done a great job of that all by yourself Hope you enjoyed the game tonight
You want me to show you that? I posted AT&T's statement today just a page or two ago. The difference is that you view a 30-second paid advertisement in a different light than a quote in a newspaper story. I don't. I guess we need to agree to disagree on that, because I'm not sure what's left for either of us to say on that front.
You would, no could, watch 34 2013 Houston Astros games? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8HmgFbR4PU8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
In the comment section of the latest post from David Barron, he says that DirecTv is still considering the offer. As someone with DirecTv, I hope they decide to give us the channel.
I thought there was an article a couple of weeks ago saying no playoff games would be blacked out even if on NBATV. It's somewhere in this thread, I believe. Maybe some blog from 790?
They can let us have it, but I wont be watching. Rockets season is over, playoff games are nationally televised....thanks for nuttin CSN. btw....do you guys know how stupid it sounds for you to accuse The Cat as being a paid shill? I'd understand if he just joined when this started, but the dude has been here longer than I have....and as those of you who have been here know, the Cat likes to talk.....alot. This just happens to be a subject you don't like his stance on, so you try to dismiss him by claiming he is a paid shill....weak....very weak.
This is fantastic as I recently moved and have to wait until May 3rd for my service to get switched over. So, still no CSN for me.
all three of those were in response to the Cat. I know in the 200 pages of this thread I have seen several other posts implying or flatout saying he is a shill. I dont necessarily agree with his stance, but it is assinine to try to say he is a paid shill just because he doesnt agree with the majority opinion.
You don't have to be a fan. I am, though. I wouldn't watch all 34 because I don't have time...but I sure as hell would like the opportunity to. I don't watch most of the programming I pay for...I pay for the option to watch it.
Smart move by csn here. They have pissed me off the most during this whole thing but uverse better give me that free preview. Yeah the numbers may be slightly inflated for a month free preview but they should do it anyways. They will probably have coverage of Texans OTAs too.
And if they don't, 95% of this board will be falling over themselves to defend that decision all while trying to act like one of the posters here is the only biased one.
It would be stupid of the cable companies to offer the one month preview prior to having a permanent deal agreed to. Once a deal is agreed to - if that ever happens - then a one month free promotional would be a good idea. Not until.
wut? there's no need for a one month free promotional AFTER they have the deal in place. it would be stupid for Uverse to tell me and other customers that, even though I'd like to watch the channel and it will cost them absolutely nothing for me to have it for a month, that they don't care and they won't show it anyway. that's stupid. that will end in me leaving Uverse after my contract is up...because it's ridiculously petty. if they do that, they need to get off the whole, "we're just looking out for our subscribers" garbage.
Give your customers the ability to decide for themselves how much the channel is worth. They may find numbers that would help their case against CSH. If they truly care about their customers as they claim (hint, they don't), they would do this.
