He run blocks, that's why it's him and not Cordarrel.

And really, Schaub is not going to get the ball to a burner deep. He throws patterns, out's and in's, bootleg crossing routes. Hopkins is the best fit for our offense,

Slower than Roddy, but better hands. More like a Boldin Roddy hybrid.

He's a solid starter. Better then Kevin Walter. Average upside. Probably peaked already. Great value pick.

Very excited about the pick... I really didn't think Kubiak and Smith would do it. I thought we would get the same old song and dance about "We like what we've got, and we're waiting for one of the guys to grab the position."

My jaw dropped when Goodell said Hopkins. I thought I'd hear something like "And with the 27th pick the Texans select... Chad Thompson, offensive guard, San Diego State."

Congrats on DeAndre. Heck of a footballplayer.

Texans are going to be a heck of a football team next year. Great addition.

I got one of my personal favorites in Matt Elam to my Ravens, so I can't complain either.

And lol at the Cowboys btw.

I don't follow the draft that closely, but I keep hearing about Hopkins not being all that fast. I see he ran something like a 4.57 at the Combine, but then followed that up with a 4.46 and a 4.41 at his Pro-Day. That puts him up there in terms of speed, doesn't it? I mean, it's not Chris Johnson-elite, but Patterson ran a 4.42 at the Combine from what I can tell. Of course, I'm assuming the Pro-Day times are electronically timed.

Hopkins is so polished. Route running is superb. Perfect physical size and hands for a WR. Tall like Hunter but with greater build. Only cost to this is slight above average speed, rather than Tavon type speed but that would be the only downside whatsoever. His route running and ability to separate will be what we need. ...solid, solid pick up. Some sources consider him the best overall WR available in the draft. So I'm happy bout that.

He has not peaked, he came out of college as a junior and it usually takes WRs a couple of years to become strong contributors.

With those big hands he will be able to catch all those balls thrown at his feet from Matt.

we dont need a burner...we need someone to just catch...Andre Johnson isnt a burner, but he stil attacks the ball...this kid does as well...and tremendous hands...great pick

yes...he fits the bill of an NFL ready receiver...
