I really don't think the Texans care about that kind of thing, nor should they. They've proven that they'll take who they feel is the best player available, regardless of position or need. If they have a WR at the top of their draft list come pick #27, I don't think they're going to let supposed WR depth in rounds 2 and 3 deter them. You try to get too cute with that and you end up with lesser players. One at your initial pick because you're passing on the player you actually have rated the highest, and then again when you do take a WR because they'll be a lesser player than the guy you could have taken in the first. I know there's the temptation to try to maximize value similar to way you would in a fantasy draft, taking positions with little depth first and those with a lot of depth later, but the real thing is a lot more unpredictable and could easily backfire. And you rarely end up with THE best player you can possibly get with that approach. Now, if the Texans simply have a player at another position rated higher, that's great. But if they have a WR at the top of their board and they choose somebody else because of supposed depth later in the draft, that's a mistake.

Is that true? I can't remember, but I thought we won a mess of games after we lost him. Wasn't he gone after the 5th or 6th game? And we started 11-1?
That's absurd- if Harper Lee or JD Salinger are still on the board, you have to take them. I think Kiper projects Miller as a late 2nd rounder.
I hope we: WR in the first (Hopkins, Hunter, Patterson). Unless Eifert (TE) is still there somehow, but I dont see him getting past CHI. If we can get Eifert in the 1st, then I hope we move up to the early/mid 2nd to take Woods (WR-USC) who should still be there. Then move to early 3rd to grab Mathieu. After that address MLB, DT, OL depth via remaining picks & FA.
Didn't see this posted, but the Texans could pick Robert WOods according to this guy, whose predictions have been pretty accurate so far. http://www.draftinsider.net/blog/?p=7032
Now if Geno drops, there could be some teams looking to trade up. I actually would not be opposed to taking him if coaches have him rated high.
