He might not even live until age 55 man.....

and they should've had those funds collecting interest over these years.

He hasn't been the smartest cookie in the basket with his money either though, but keeping it real I guess was more important. (shrugs)

It is invested, that's where the $1 mil annuity is coming from.

It's an interesting story. I think he's an alcoholic and it's played a major part in everything.

Dare I say his ex-wife sounds like she's been earnest in trying to help him.

I still don't get how someone who has made so much money has not got some professional help on financial management.

If I were the Players Union negotiator, I'd ask for some kind of retirement security for the players.

I have no sympathy for these athletes who blow their $$$ on non sense and also get married. NBA players usually retire around 34-35 years old. That's very young outside of sports life. Why can't you marry after you have been retired a few years? Eh..maybe it's just me. I'm poor and i still won't marry till my late 30's/early 40's.

Divorce is expensive, he has kids, and he just has to wait to get his $30 mil.

Guys like him will never be truly broke. This is a testament however that marriage is a mistake when you're rich and famous. He had a jacked up looking wife too. I wonder how much Lebron's future divorce is gonna cost.

Sure. Maybe we can organize a PRACTICE basketball clinic featuring Allen Iverson.

Don't feel sorry for him, so he may be broke now but his awesome life when he was an NBA player made up for it. Also that trust fund is a great idea. If I were him I wouldn't even feel bad, I'd just chill until I get that money.

Move to a 3rd world country where that cool million bucks annually will be magnified tenfold.

Bad move man. The only girls left over for men in their late 30's/early 40's are either gold diggers or damaged goods, usually toting baggage (i.e. kids from previous marriages). Both are expensive.

For a man of modest means, your best move is to marry young, for love, and struggle together. It builds a stronger bond, and is way more fun. Think about it.
