Alright, I exaggerated. He's not completely washed up, especially for a 34-yr-old. Kobe's numbers are impressive, but I question his value to the team. I just feel that if you're going to be paid $27m, you need to be held accountable for things -- something Kobe fans won't accept. Spend $27m on a defender, a PG, and a 3-pt shooter. That is better. Or put Cp3, KD, or LBJ in Kobe's place and we'll have another superteam. As of right now it's just a retirement home.
Why are people still talking about Kobe? He isn't playing, Gasol and Howard look like crap, and, in the end, the Lakers are getting thrashed. End of story.
The funniest thing is that Kobe cockgobblers like GreatOne1978 are the first people to rip on LeBron for 2011, but they conveniently forget that Kobe played even worse and got swept against that same Dallas team! Whoever said that Kobe's season/career ending injury was the best thing that could have happened for him was spot on. IF the Lakers made the playoffs with a healthy Kobe (a big IF but a possibility since the league was doing whatever it could to get them there), they would certainly have been humiliated. At least now they have a fighting chance to win a couple games at home and maybe the series.
Didn't Howard play when they went 28-12? If you have the best C in basketball then of course losing another big doesn't hurt as much. If LA had another top wing then losing Kobe wouldn't hurt as much. But they don't. Nash is hurt and the rest of the guards are average at best. I'm sure if you gave Howard/Gasol the wings that the Grizz have then they would be just fine.
As a Rockets fan, you ain't getting no sympathy from me, Steve. We had an entire era(Yao-TMac) essentially derailed thanks to injuries.
The 2009 championship was practically gifted to them once Yao went down. Laker fans have no right to b****.
To be honest some of those wins kind of had refs heavily involved to the point they should've lost those games. That's real fools gold right there.. its showing up now, and as they said last night, this team still talking about trying to figure out who they are, its too late.
What are you going to say when the Lakers likely get swept or lose in 5? Will it be that they would have gotten beat much worse with Kobe?
Boy does Clippy hate Kobe. Too bad he's managed to convince zero people away from liking Kobe. Must be fulfilling, spreading all that gall for naught
I understand his general point that he thinks Kobe's overrated, but he takes it WAYYYYYYYYYYY too far, and then it just becomes silly.

Jodie Meeks is also listed as doubtful right now. It will be hilarious to see what kind of team LA puts out there for game 3.
