We had the Tracy McGrady of Europe and the Euro that one time stood-up to Karl Malone. How can you say they weren't robbed by JVG of multiple All Star and All NBA accolades?

Von Wafer - the Lebron-like offensive presence - was also jobbed.

When in doubt, it's always the coaches fault. Just because players fail under multiple coaches doesn't mean that the 31st coach isn't the key!

JVG really hampered Steve Francis...and he even admits it...

I will never understand the hate on jvg when it comes to yao. Guy had a frigging mvp type season under jvg. He got injured because of the supid offseason bs pan asian games he committed himself to every single damn year. Guys 7'6" with one of the best low post scoring ability in the league at the time and we supposed to turn him into ryan anderson?!

I loved loved franchise, but jvg didnt hamper him. Jvg wanted him to stop making bad decisions. Franchise was badly influenced by cuttino imo

I voted JVG - Francis. His production dropped dramatically in his only year with JVG. All of the other options aren't realistic IMO.

Where is the jvg prevented v-span from being the next t-mac option?

During the JVG era, I can't really blame him, since there wasn't much talent around the big two. However his style was painful to watch. You put handcuffs on t-mac, and force fed yao down low in crucial spots where he was stripped countless times.

However, his defensive coaching lasted for years into the adelman era.

Wish Morey would have replaced Dawson two years earlier, man knows how to find productive role players.

I get kinda tired of hearing this excuse both from T-Mac and the fans that somehow think this is true.

The only problem with the rosters in those early years wasn't the talent, it was both the shape that the players where in, injuries, and the age. People forget how much talent was on that roster -

    Yao & T-Mac

    -Jim Jackson
    -Mutumbo
    -David Wesley
    -Vin Baker
    -Juwan Howard
    -Rod Strickland
    -Clarence Weatherspoon
    -Barry
    + others

If everyone would have been in shape, and still able to produce 60% of talent level at their age this would have been one of the more stacked rosters EVER. Unfortunately, injuries, age, and "some people" being out of shape led to a few dissapointing years.

However, the talent that Dawson put around T-Mac and Yao in those years shouldn't be as questioned as it is today by either T-Mac or the fans.

Yao being 7'6" ruined his career...it was also the source of his career.

    Yao was here before Tmac.

He was specifically talking about the criticism on the board toward JVG, which he was right,

    you don't know jack about.
