next time, punch perkins in the balls. westbrook should have been exiled for the night with some cheap shots he was giving, but they called us for 'taunting'.
I EXPECT Stern and the league to go over the tapes and for a makeup game in game 3. Perkins is a dirty player.... Learned it from the best in KG.
Agreed the refs blow and next year we are going to be very special considering we have cap to sign another max player
I think the biggest problem with Stern and his officials is simply a lack of accountability, which should play into our favor in Houston. Sure, there are some situations like the Lakers in the finale where it's clear who the league needs/wants to win and the officials call things accordingly. But that's the exception to the rule. In general, the problem with NBA officials is that they aren't disciplined when they screw up... so they tend to get caught up in the emotion of the crowd and flow of the game. They're reacting rather than thinking. Hopefully that works to our advantage this weekend.
That was a pretty big flop and I think Parsons would deserve a fine over Perkins. Regardless, no defender could make up that ground. You could argue he would have 'bothered' the shot, but he could have put in a much better effort rather than flailing and twisting his body as if Perkins had really put much effort into it.
The Thunder ain't winnin this year. Miami will spank them. Terrible, just terrible. There are three officials out there. Three.
Whether he could've actually closed out on the shot is beside the point. Perkins clearly grabs Parsons arm with his 2 hands at first and then 1. It was a slight yank and Parsons probably did flail to sell it but that's a clear offensive foul. The 3 pts would've been negated and the Rockets would've had possession. Big swing.
Not that it should matter, but I think Parsons could have closed the gap. These are NBA players who can run 40 yards in 4 seconds. That's 120 feet in 4 seconds. That spot where Chandler was held is about 15 feet away from Thabo. Who knows what would have happened if Thabo saw Parsons sprinting full speed at him and got a hand in his face. Chances are he would have rushed the shot more. We left Thabo wide open the entire night and he was 2-6 before that shot. What if Perkins told Thabo, hey they're leaving you wide open. I'm gonna grab your man next time they do, so don't rush it. It's worth the gamble, because OKC fans are loud and obnoxious. If they take away that three they will boo like crazy. They can't make up for it. The Rockets could have stole HCA and now they are down 2-0.
That's okay, as long as we retaliate I am fine. I was more surprised there was no technical on Perkins when he got the foul on Harden right after and just threw his arm around and almost got in the ref's face. Also WB should've been called for a technical and Beverley definitely did not foul WB twice in a row so those were imo more worthy than this.
And then they call bs techs like the one on Smith for dunkin on Ibaka. Ibaka & Perkins are WAY more aggressive with they're taunting but no call
If you look at the Video replay. look at the ref behind Perkins he is looking at him and he still didnt call the foul. Thats BS.
That one, the refs didn't have a clear view. This one the ref is looking at the play and is responsible for that area. Not only this play, but the technical on Greg Smith while Russell Westbrook can flex his muscles twice and taunt Beverly wasn't called. I'm only mad at the NBA that rewards great teams and trash teams that aren't there yet.
He didn't throw his arms up to flail or flop, he was trying to contest a shot. That is why it should have been a clear foul and how what Perkins did was advantageous for them, Parsons couldn't contest the shot by Sefalosha.
