Houston's Texas Medical Center is bigger than downtown Dallas.

I, too, have lived in both cities.

Dallas has more suburbs which leads to better city planning. You really don't have crappy slums, next to a nice neighborhood. Better school districts as well.

I honestly don't care about Dallas enough to even hate them.

While Houston is clearly superior there is a strange thing about the "rivalry".

From what I've seen Houstonians have much more antagonism towards Dallas than Dallas does towards Houston. People from Dallas will argue about it if it's brought up, of course, but they don't have the same passionate dislike of Houston that Houston has for Dallas. It's almost a one way rivalry... not completely but pretty close.

Lived in Houston for 1st 23 years of my life. Been in Dallas the past 2 years.

Dallas is a much cleaner city. That is greatly helped by zoning laws. You can walk around downtown Dallas and not have to worry about being hit up by homeless people.

All that being said I'd rather live in Houston because Dallas is douchebag city

I think a lot has to do with the cowboys fans living in Houston. If Dallas had Texans fans there like we have Cowboys fans in Houston, they'd be pretty vocal about it too.

And nothing pisses me off more than people who are from Houston, that are Cowboys fans. Talk about bad parenting....

I'm in downtown often, and I don't get bothered by homeless people. In fact, I get asked for money way more often in the med center.

This is a little off topic but most of the time whenever I ask Cowboys fans why they root for the Cowboys if they were born in Houston?

"Oh I root for both since they are both from Texas."

What in the ****? People like that usually root for the Mavs and Spurs too. Screw them.

This is the part that's always bothered me about this "rivalry."

When one side hates the other side and the other side doesn't care either way.....it makes the one side come off as jealous and/or envious.

    100% its the Cowboys.

Growing up an Oilers fan it was tough since the Cowboys were "America's Team." They had all the history, and then they won 3 Super Bowls in the 90's while the Oilers shat the bed repeatedly (Bills, Chiefs, etc). I think Houston folks still harbor resentment against Dallas over that.

On a side note I kinda don't like Craig Ackerman referring to the Rockets as "My team, your team...America's team!" in his opening and closing monologue. I keep thinking that we have popped collar dbags and 30k millionaires as rockets fans when he says that. I just hope he doesn't start saying "How bout them Rockets?!"

Saying Dallas and Fort Worth is not the same area is like saying San Francisco/Oakland and San Jose isn't the same area as well as the Western Inland Empire and LA/Orange County.
