can you really fault people for speaking the truth? People bugged me about it after season 1 and I am glad they did. I am one of them now.

Yunkai is definitely the "least important" of the three stops. In Astapor, she gets her army, and the cool-as-hell scene from last night on Episode 4. Meereen? From what I gather, she's gonna spend some time there, and I'll leave it at that, because most people will click on "spoiler" anyway.

In Yunkai, well, it's kind of a pit stop compared to Astapor and Meereen. But I'm glad they kept it. I think it helps with the arc of the story because of where they want to end this season. The producers couldn't very well have Dany wandering around like Moses and the Israelites in the Sinai until season 4.

The books are obviously better than the series, but sometimes the series manages to improve some things. "Clash of Kings" featured Arya basically as a castle urchin for hundreds of pages. So in the show they put her next to Tywin Lannister, amped up the cool factor of Ja'qen, and POW!

I thought Arya's story line was much better in the books and so was Ja'qen. Arya and Tywin featured some great acting, but the fear and danger that Arya went thru was drastically reduced as well as her own participation in the killing. It was decent compared to what they did to Dany and Jon in the show, but I certainly didn't consider it an improvement. Season 2 was a disappointment over all, but thankfully season 3 has been much better so far.

I remembered it the way you say here, but it dawned on me that some of the stuff with Theon could have been happening at the same time maybe as some from the earlier book.

Anyway after rereading what the producers said it's a little more ambiguous than I remembered

no but it does get old. go talk about the book in the book thread. it's like the walking dead fans who always talk about the comic...

and i say this having read a game of thrones and a clash of kings.

great episode...loved it. such a damn good series

i would love for them to do some flashback episodes and tackle some of the history like ned's brother and his father's death but the age of the kids is already a factor, it will be interesting to see how they develop the story...

    Nice link.

[rquoter]The plan, if we’re lucky enough to be given the opportunity to see it through, is to use as many seasons as we need to tell the story as a whole, to do justice to George’s entire opus.[/rquoter]
[rquoter]We’re not looking at our series as a book-by-book adaptation so much as an adaptation of George’s entire saga. In other words, in our minds season two is not “A Clash of Kings.” It is the second season of our adaptation of “A Song of Ice and Fire.”[/rquoter]

    I like that approach.

In the blu ray season 2 additions they had an actor from each house do an animated story of each of the houses which I thought was pretty cool. It would be nice if they could do this at the beginning of an episode that centers around a particular family as a nice little summary of the characters and their history.

I've watched all of those and I highly recommend them, really flesh out a lot of stuff referenced in the show.

Great vid. All these lore videos are so dang interesting to me, I wish I could get this excited about real history. I did do my history project on the Wars of the Roses, which is pretty much the equivalent to real world Game of Thrones tho

I appreciate the lore but good god is she ugly and annoying. Always dropping unnecessary f-bombs.

Yeah, I can see how some people wouldn't like her.

However I like her enthusiasm... and I would hit.

everything about her is awesome. she is hot and hilarious and her style is informative and she is so passionate about Game of Thrones you would have to be ice cold to be turned off by her and her videos.

very rich episode tonight. Jaime's revelations in the bathtub scene might be my favorite scene in all three seasons now.

    so much history revealed tonight...

Jaime and Brienne in the baths was indeed a good scene. My favorite is still episode five of season one with Robert and Cersei talking about their marriage (and it wasn't even in the books at all!). But this was a damned good scene as well. And overall a strong episode, although I think I may have liked last week's episode ever-so-slightly better.

The only bit that annoyed me in this episode was the scenes strung together with the guy who slept with Loras. It's not that I mind the man-on-man action particularly, it was just a ridiculously rushed sequence of scenes. It showed them meeting, then sleeping together, then the guy reporting to Littlefinger in the space of about a minute. The whole thing just felt clumsy. Maybe if they'd spaced those scenes out with some other stuff in between it wouldn't have felt so rushed.

Yeah, I can't recall them cutting between scenes in the same story line like that before. Normally, they'd cut away to some other story line and come back again later. Or if there is a cut, it's natural and covers a short period of time. Like when they cut from Jamie and Brienne arriving at Harrenhal and Jaime being tended to by Qyburn or when cutting from the Lannister hostages being murdered to Rob sentencing Karstark to Rob carrying out the execution. That last one might have actually covered more time, but it didn't feel that way. The scenes with Sansay, Loras, and Littlefinger felt odd because the scenes were short and they covered a full day in about 3 minutes. It was obvious that they were quickly jumping in time and it was just weird.

I thought the quick editing was done purposely, to emphasize how quickly secrets can spread. But I do think it could have been done better.

I got the feeling they did it maybe so the audience didn't forget who blonde guy was between scenes. Agree that it could've been done better.

Game Of Thrones beats all NBA playoff games in ratings

GoT clobbers everyone in ratings. More episodes per season pls.
