Only reason Felton is relevant is primarily because Carmelo consistently has to drop 30 plus inorder for their team to win...Felton is the definition of serviceable PG...who has just maxed out his upside...

Lin who has shown what his peak can be, is playing what most of us thought he would...at this stage of his career...Lin is going to be the better player...

Nah, JR will sign a moderate contract and Dolan will pay him more money under the table.

Even if they had Lin the ball is going to be either in Melo or Smith's hand a majority of the time. So Lin's impact would have been minimized either way, and we have seen in Houston Lin isn't effective without the ball in his hands. To be fair felton can't shoot so really he isn't their ideal PG either, but he is a lot cheaper.

Felton is a pretty god awful distributor and shoots way too much considering he is a mediocre scorer. Both Felton and Lin are trivial, average PGs at this point. At least Lin's defense isn't atrocious like Felton's though.

I agree Felton is better for the cost but I wouldn't want either as a starting PG for my team. Lin has a lot more work to do.

Kidd and Jr Smith has been turrible. Felton has been pretty good in the playoffs. Woodson seems to be getting hate from everywhere.

eh they're in a win now mode. You can see why they went with the veteran over the rookie.

on the other hand, win now mode against the god tier Heats is kind of dumb, they should've just trade pieces and plan for the future.

I thought the consensus was Felton was at the level of Lin or better. The Knicks needed to win now because Carmelo was getting old. After the Carmelo era is over the Knicks have nothing to rebuild with. The only young guy they have with potential is Shumpert. What we were paying for in Lin was potential. You have to give it 1-2 more years to find other whether it was a good trade or not. It's not looking good for Lin so far but with 1 year to gel and more experience year 2 is probably where I'm going to decide on whether Lin is a + or -.

Man all these excuses like, "Lin needs the ball to be effective". "Carmelo's the only reason Felton's playin like that". STOP IT. While Felton's no CP3, he's clearly better than Jeremy Lin. Its not about having the ball, because when Lin does have it he's indecisive and turnover prone. Plus he's not a good shooter.

Overall, Felton's a better basketball player. Even though the Knicks need a pass first point instead

If we compare Lin's stats post-all star (because he was injured at the beginning of the season) and Felton's season stats, we find that Lin averaged more points, assists, higher FG%, and 3pt%.

Felton is not clearly better than Lin. Not to mention Lin is younger, a better defender and passer.

they're both mediocre point guards, except 1 of them is overpaid.
