This is what LOF's don't seem to understand, for reasons I simply cannot ever understand... The "haters" are not trying to "convince" Lin fans to stop being a fan of Jeremy Lin. The fact that people actually think that is seriously laughable. Also, even more laughable is the notion that fans of the Rockets don't like Jeremy Lin. Rockets fans do like Jeremy Lin, they're just not blind to his faults. The problem Rockets fans, known by LOF's as "LOH's" (for some reason they think that makes sense), have with LOF's is they're blind bias towards Lin and lack of objectivity. Not all Lin fans display this, but a good amount do, and that's what gets annoying.
Where are your linexpectations? All right, he failed them completely and now you're ashamed to show it.
1st of all, I think you got me wrong. I wasn't talking about Lin, I was talking about the situation with LOHs here. As regard to your post, well, nothing is certain, I do think he will be a star, not necessarily super star but a star distributor, that's good enough for me. We could only wait, see and hope, no point arguing over it. He says it best about the bipolar fandom. Well, but homerism is kinda common and cool but hating is something else.
Rondo is the first name that comes to mind. Ya he's out for the season but we could still say he's in the NBA today. Lin is actually a far better shooter than Rondo, but can't touch him in terms of defense and rebounding. Lin in this year is kinda like Rondo in his second year, let's hope he improves! On the other hand, just because there aren't many star distributors nowadays doesn't mean there can't be one in the future, especially since there used to be quite many.
I don't think that's a fair comparison. Lin is closer to a Stockton than a Rhondo. Roughly speaking. My only beef with Lin has been his tendency to pick up his dribble or jump with nowhere to go. I can live with streaky shooting. I think he still has time to develop but I don't think of him as a heavily instinctual player, ala Rhondo.
Agreed, I brought up Rondo just to respond to a question. Perhaps you mean the this year = second year thing? Well, I just meant that in terms of stat and development. You're right though, I think Lin is more similar to Stockton than Rondo, Stockton wasn't shooting very well the first few years in the NBA.
I want to ask the haters just what do you realistically expect out of Lin? What do you expect out of him as the 3rd or 4th option on the offense and plays PG at most half the time when he's out there? What do you want to see realistically for the remaining games of this series and for next year?
I think a full training camp and a stable power forward will do wonders for the team and for Lin, in particular.
Play like somebody who's getting paid 25 million dollars over 3 years...prove your worth on a big stage. That's more than reasonable to expect.
Idiotic thread. Chandler, asik, and harden were absolute dogs out there, too. Correct thread title: poor rockets fans. Why single out Lin? Dumb.
A more accurate term would be "LOFH" or Lin Only Fan Hater. Most people labeled as LOH don't really dislike Lin, they dislike his fans.
Don't associate Lin with Lin Only Fans. One guy is a winner, the other are a bunch of groupies trying to turn Lin into Justin Bieber.
We love JLin. We like his few rational fans. What we really dislike are his delusional fans that think he is the next Kobe/MJ/Lebron type of player. Those are the LOFs everyone complaints about, that have to ruin every game thread with "McHale hates Lin" and some other irrational stuff. They do it. Every. Single. Time.
