Ibaka does have a point but I don't think Harden is selfish. He is just young and kinda spoiled. Didn't he shoot the most free throws or something? He drives and expect a call. That happens in the regular season home games but it's different, it's the playoffs, against a league favored team with elite shot blockers and thunderous crowd. The refs swallow their whistles in this kinda situation. Therefore someone (coaches?) should have told him in the regular season not to do something like this. He has some growing up to do if this team is going to another level.
absolutely not. none of rox players is selfish but many of them were trying hero ball after down many pts. instead, they should trust their system and trust their teammates.
He's mainly talking about chandler and Harden. They don't trust their teammates when things start going poorly and try to make something happen. Despite Harden's talents, there is such thing as him forcing things.
So a guy on a team that ranks close to the bottom in every category related to assists says the Rockets are selfish. "He's stupid" -LeBron James
I hear people say this all the time and this is not always true... It's not all about having Superstars, it's about playing team ball and playing smart. If it were about stars, Houston would have won when the Rockets had Barkley, Pippin and Hakeem... LA would have won when they had GP, Malone, Shaq and Kobe... It takes more than superstars. T_Man
It was Lin turning the ball over and over and over and over, whilst he and Parsons shot some ridiculous garbage in the late 2nd quarter that the game got blown out, Harden made one offensive move in that entire period and barely touched the ball on offense.
Not really it's all about stars. Pierce, Allen, Duncan. Shaq, Kobe. Duncan, Parker, Ginobili. Lebron, Wade, Bosh. Then you got teams like Mavs who got Dirk, Chandler, and a great supporting cast. It's all about stars.
Harden taking shots with his feet set and man a step off isn't the problem, it was Parsons twisting jumpers, and Lin either fall away airballing or passing to Westbrook or Durant (that baseline pass was the epitome of downright stupid) as though they were his own teammates.
Sure teams with stars have failed to win championships. But almost every single championship team of the last 20 years has had at least one superstar other than maybe the Pistons.
Yup! Did the Pistons have any all stars? Rasheed Wallace could of been a superstar probably if he cared.
Jesus, do you see anyone open for an assist? Everyone were at the 3 points line. When Lin pass the ball, he is being too passive? He is being deferring to his teammate too much? Now, when Lin took a high probably shoot, he is being ISO????
I have to say though, some of those shots the Thunder made were pretty well defended. Pretty much everyone on the Thunder were shooting the ball well. Rockets were just helpless to stop them.
Nothing worse than having star players that are far past their primes because you get the usually big ego (most star players are selfish btw) but none of the talent. Both of those teams were filled with players way past their primes. Malone retired right after that and Payton won a ring on the Heat playing some small role off the bench. Same with the Rockets. Hakeem...Barkley...soon retired after that.
Well, we all know what the final result of this series will be. So let's just try out: Game 1: Increase the variance, did not work. cross that out. Game 2: Let BP be The Point Guard, and see what happens. Game 3: Take Harden out as you suggest Game 4: Let Lin boy be the Floor Manger
