No, Harden is not selfish. Why don't anyone see this is by design of the system. I used to think the same about Melo under D'Antoni is selfish. Basically, when Melo hold the ball, no everyone move the the corner. Sound familar??? You betcha. Now Melo is under Woodson, and he flourish under Woodson's system. Melo still getting all the shoot he wants. He is still the go to guy. And there are a lot more ball movement.
lmfaaoo at the posters pretending Ibaka wasnt talking about harden. read between the lines you fools.
Among other things, I'm surprised how we settled for contested 3's when we still had 10-15 sec left at times. There was time to make at least 1-2 extra passes but nooooo...
I for one dont think harden is selfish... i actualy got to love the guy because of that... it's just that for some reason coaching stuff or management want him to pad his stats or to develop his iso game perhaps to make a superstar out of him and thus got preferential treatment from refrees nba or media money.....or to be able to atract another superstar.....its seems it works this way in nba....Kobe is not stupid nor sefish also...and he showed that he knows how to make 10 assists a game whenever he wants... he simply knows that's the way it works
By many...you mean a handful right? But I don't blame Harden. He did what he could to score. If your coach isn't running any plays or sets for you then you go one on one and try to score. Nothing we haven't seen all season long. We blew out teams that had inferior talent or didn't want to hustle during the grind of an 82 game season. Here we're facing a better team with better athletes and 2-3 days off between each game. And we still have no offense.
3 of Lin's 1/7 shooting was him trying to go one on one 2 of Parson's 11 shots were also one on ones. One off trying to abuse a switch. Here's clips of 3 of his 7 shots, just to troll the LOFs who are taking this opportunity to bash Harden(yet again).
I don't have a "pair" of working eyes, and I saw it. He is absolutely right. We saw the Rockets at their worst; before the series is over we will hopefully see them at their best.
poor attempt at mind games by the thunder. the spurs run more iso's than the rockets. the rockets just don't have enough high level talent on board.
Ibaka is not a LOF. He's a HOH. Harden should never have tried hitting on Ibaka's girlfriend. And McHale doesn't like the term "selfish". He prefers "sticky".
Well what do you expect... Harden is (and he himself likely believes that he is) the only offensive threat on the entire Rockets team. When Lin is throwing up Bricks, Parsons is in foul trouble, and Delfino hasn't even played in weeks, are you really going to risk giving up an offensive possession to lesser scorer? Hell no. I wouldn't. Harden didn't have that problem in OKC because Durant/Westbrook were (in his mind most likely) equally effective at scoring, if not better. With that said, dribbling the ball until 8 seconds on the shot clock playground BS won't win play-off games. McHale needs to run some damn plays. FFS the entire rockets playbook is, top of the key guard to guard screen to Harden ISO or drive and kick out to open shooter. That's pretty much it.
Problem came when we are around 10 pts behind. The ball start to stick on someone's hand. The more pts we had behind, ball got more sticky-er.
And I find it laughable that McHale gets angry at players for "making the ball sticky" when he doesn't even have simple set plays to go to. Those selfish plays are a product of the Coaching - i.e. players not knowing WTF to do against an elite team like OKC. "Oh you mean playing playground iso ball won't work in the playoffs?" No $h*t sherlock.
poor attempt at trying to deny the truth at what ibaka is saying. Harden is a selfish player and his selfishness is augmented by Mcfail's one one iso system. smdh at you saying the spurs run more isos. GTFO with that bullcrap. And the talent between these two teams are not that far off to say they are so much better than us. That's a weak moving the goal post excuse. Their two best players are Durant and Westbrook. Nobody we bring in this offseason will change that. Durant, westbrook, Ibaka. That's their 3 best players. Our 3 best players? Harden, Parsons, Lin. After that our talent level is comparable. Asik is a talent and we have first round picks all over the place. Problem is Mcfail doesnt play them. To say they are so much more talented than us in every position is quite a reach.
