Bev got beat off the dribble alot more than i expected actually.. still hustled and played well overall though. Lin stayed in front for the most, contested, thats all you can really do, just looked overwhelmed offensively. He'll be fine. Everyone loves to kick someone when they're down, but as coach Mchale said, hes a tough kid, he'll be fine

This will turn into one of our trademark PG battles within the next year or two. Beverley has such a bulldog mentality and all of the tools to become a marquee PG. Lin also has a high ceiling, but IMO this will be Brooks vs Lowry part 2. The one thing that can potentially save Lin though is how much money he makes for Les.

I really hope not. Lin, not counting the playoff game, is looking like he is finally healthy and is hesitating less. He could be MIP next season.

I like Beverley a lot, but I doubt he will be close to Lin if Lin continues to improve off ball.

The only thing Lin does better than Beverley is score. Nothing else. He doesn't do it on a consistent basis though.

The difference is i am not hyping Beverley. I am using facts. The entire NBA nation saw what i had been saying this whole time. The team just plays bette when he is on the court. The only people in the nation who disagreed are LOF's. You guys are the only ones giving excuses for Jeremy. All other media outlets in the nation agree with my assessment.

"Facts" - you probably forgot Rockets is in the playoffs with Lin as starting PG. Or you are saying that Rockets won all those games in spite of Lin, and we would have been a 60-win team without Lin?

Lin played a pi$$-poor game in his first ever playoff game. But team just plays better when Beverly is on the court? Wow, the whole season? Whole nation agrees with your "assessment"? Maybe you should seriously consider NOT to post for a while.

So you are saying that Beverly:
-sees the floor better than Lin
-runs an offense better than Lin
-plays better position defense than Lin
    -plays smarter basketball than Lin
    -fouls less than Lin
-plays better post defense than Lin
-is a better leader and team player than Lin
-forces opponents to game plan against him more than Lin

Who the hell disagreed that we didn't look good out there with Bev?? In fact we looked best with Lin-Bev for weeks now and does that mean Brv is better than Harden?

You fail basic logic. Do YOU even believe that all the media outlets and the nation now believe that Beverley is better than Lin? Lol, I bet you anything that that is what all the haters think too.

Beverly played the best when Lin is on the floor with him. They are a good tandem, and we need both to play well to have a chance at winning.

Beverley has been a revelation this season. One of Morey's best pickups in his career, and probably the biggest surprise all season(unless you didn't know who Harden/Asik were). This is a FA signing from Russia of all places, who is turning out to be one of the best backup PGs in the entire league. Truly pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Unlike Douglas before him, Beverley plays real, impact defense, not just fake hustle/excessive fouling. Indeed, Douglas was actually one of our worst defenders according to advanced stats.

With all that said, and I am as big of a Beverley fan as all Rockets fans should be, this thread which has degenerated to a "Lin vs. Beverley/Beverley should start" mess makes a mockery of something we should be celebrating.

There has been a handful of games that Beverley thoroughly outplayed Lin. Inexplicably, Lin, on his down days, looks like he barely belongs in the league. This has happened in lesser frequency as the year has gone on, as he continues to progress and develop. But it did happen again in the biggest game of the year.

That does NOT change the other 70 odd games that Jeremy Lin was the better player, who showed more upside, who is more dynamic, with more star potential, who was a key component to the team winning and making the playoffs.

Stop b****ing, and be glad that we have a kickass backup PG.

Can you even read? You refuse to see the truth because of your undying love for Lin. That's your issue. What i believe is what i have been seeing ever since Beverley stepped foot on the court as a Houston Rocket. The team plays better with him on the court. Whether it's with Lin or Harden, it doesn't matter. When he is on the floor they look more in tune. Make up all the excuses you can, it won't matter.

fine, you have facts. i wish one day you won't diss him when he finally get his starting pg position (i really doubt our coaches have same view as yours). he is now a backup pg and has played most against other team backup pg. let's wait and see what will happen when he plays as a starting pg against other team starting pgs.

Nothing wrong with supporting a player, but when you start to pin down another player just to raise your favorite player then that is crossing the line...

Even when Lin scores well, his man scores more. This is why Lin should be the sixth man because Westbrook is too good a scorer to go up against.
