Even an all-star caliber player like Deron can have bad games and he's getting paid $17million a year and also he has much more experience than Lin. Not to mention that he's playing against the Bulls and not championship level teams like OKC or the Heats. I'm pretty sure if Lin played against the Bulls as his first playoff appearance, the outcome may very well be different.
The Bulls aren't even in our conference so we wouldn't even play them unless it were in the finals lol. And you're using an injury and depleted Bulls as an excuse to try to make Lin look good? Seriously dude, lamest excuse I've heard for Lin so far.
If the Bulls have injured and depleted players then how come Deron didn't play that well and why did the team Nets lose? You're just a LOH.
Forcing him to play? I'm pretty sure Yao played willingly during the summer for China. Don't forget, Yao actually earned significantly more from endorsements (Chinese endorsements) than the salary paid by the Rockets. There's no way he'd risk losing some of these endorsements by refusing to play for the national team.
Are you sure? Every summer? I mean, I wasn't an expert on this or anything but I did read articles talking about that. Maybe my memory serves me wrong, I recall some kind of Chinese officials versus the Rockets and their doctors or something like that. I mean I was forking mad at the Chinese officials, so afterall it's not their fault...Yao you idiot...(if what you say is true)
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-yaochina022608 Well, so I guess they didn't force him but almost did, which to me doesn't make a huge difference. And I don't think it's about the money for Yao, he's got enough. And if he loses all his endorsements by resting a little that's a sort of forcing. http://shanghaiscrap.com/2008/02/the-tragedy-of-yaos-left-foot/ I stand by my original opinion that the Chinese officials are at fault, not Yao, it's understandable that he doesn't want to be the bad guy.
Let's see. It was Beverley's rookie year, his first playoff appearance, he's paid less than 10% of what Lin's getting paid, and he played against a contending team, yet he played very well. Why couldn't Lin then? Not trying to bash Lin here (I'm a huge fan of his). One bad game is just one bad game. He'll bounce back and improve. There's no need to panic. At the same time, there's no need to find lame excuses for him either. If you think Lin could easily score against the Bulls in playoffs, you obviously don't know much about Thibbideau's playoff defense.
Lin was given undeserved pressure on him from the day he signed his contract. I'm not sure if it Les wanting another Asian type player like Ming so Asians would follow the Rockets, or Morey making a mistake paying him so much. Probably a combo of both. Then again, this was essentially Jeremy Lin's rookie season. He was an average, 15-16th best PG in the league. Harden is already making Lin better than he is, which is a fantastic sign. I think we forget Lin is EXTREMELY intelligent. How many basketball players come out of HARVARD exactly. He should be managing a hedge fund somewhere making triple what he does now, not playing point guard for a Western Conference playoff team. He is going to examine his mistakes, mull over them in the off season, improve, and come back worthy of his NBA contract next season. It seems Harden, Lin, and Parsons already have a chemistry. I'm super excited for Harden's skill and eventual leadership, Lin's intelligence, and Parson's "let's do this" attitude next season. OKC is the best of the Western Conference. We can argue San Antonio, but the point is moot. We're overachieving as it is and still have room for a max salary free agent. When we get close, Ray Allen type players will be on our roster. Don't blame anyone now. We're in position to contend for every season for a decade!
I sure as hell hope that one player does not have enough influence to make us lose by thirty points. I think this thread was meant to get people flaming. This was a team loss, plain and simple. Beverly was the only person out there who played good, everyone else shot like **** or played like ****.
How am I a LOH? I didn't say one bad thing about Lin in my post, quit being a delusional fan. I actually like Lin. And the Nets lost because - They got overconfident from Sunday's game where they smashed the bulls - Thibs is one of the best coaches in the league, he can make stuff happen - The Bulls worked the boards, leading to 2nd chance points - Derron had an off night, happens to everyone I'll admit I didn't watch the game in its entirety, but the Bulls bigs did work tonight, and that's what got them the W.
Wow, I'm just stunned at how divided the fan base is. The lin/harden chasm will never be mended I suppose. It's simply a reflection of race relations as it is, but it's still an ugly sight.
Lin had one of the worst games I've ever seen. It was unbearable to watch. He was one of many reasons why we lost. But to put it all on him is pretty silly. LOFs - stop it. Just stop it. Lin played terrible. No ifs ands or buts. Suck it up, move on, and hope he plays better next game.
Is it just a tactics to bash some player by starting with something like "I'm a huge fan of his" or at least "I'm not a hater, but"? A good tactics anyway.
IF you want hits/views on your thread just put Lin in the title and say something bad about him. This is so ez
You know, its really simple. If we want to win any game against OKC, Jeremy must ball. Even if Beverley plays the game of his life its not like we will beat OKC. Harden and Bev going off = most probably still a loss Harden and Lin going off = good chance of victory We need Lin, if only because he is the 2nd player opponents game plan for and in an offense that is clearly challenged at the 4 and the 5 he has the potential to score enough points for us to win. Lin is inconsistent. One game he goes for 4 points next game 20+. And its precisely this inconsistency that gives us the best chance for a win. If he gave you 13 and 6 every game thats pretty much OKC wins guaranteed.
