Since most of you have started to come around, the question again goes back to should Beverley start at some point this series? This is not the first time that this has happened. As a matter of fact, it has happened way too many times where Lin was getting outplayed and had to be saved.
Beverley is getting praise everywhere, it's not just this board. National outlets, and other boards alike. RealGM(Unbiased Forum) was very impressed by him.
Lin's been the starter the entire season and he's done a decent job of it. Unless Lin repeats his Game 1 performance, I don't see him losing his role.
not way too many times thats an overstatement only a couple of times chill, he just had one bad game cut him some slack, but he isnt as good as LOFs think he is conleys a lot better than him
More than it should have been. Chill? No no this is not the time to chill. That wasn't just some regular season game. That was the first game of an NBA playoff series. Chill time was over two weeks ago. I have been cutting Jeremy slack. As a matter of fact, too many people have been cutting him some slack almost to the point where he is being coddled.
Knee-jerk much? Beverley no doubted played well in game 1 and Lin horribly, but that's just one game. OKC had not game-planned for Beverley and certainly didn't send him the double-team they did Lin/Harden. I'm sure we all know what Lin did last time he was the guy out of nowhere whom no one had game-planned for.
If Beverley is as good as you think he is, he'll eventually get a starting gig somewhere if not here, and when he does, if he scores 150 plus points in his first 6 games, we'll all be sure to eat crow and email you pics.
There were also multiple times when Lin carried the team whereas Beverley went on a 4- or 5-game streak without scoring. Not defending Lin here. Beverley certainly shined last night and deserves the minutes he has earned, but Lin has done enough in the regular season to deserve at least another chance. If by game 2 or 3 he's still playing like he did in Game 1, I'm sure no one would have issue with him coming off the bench or even sitting on the bench.
Beverley played great but guys have bad games all the time. In the regular season and the playoffs. Harden had a horrendous series last year against the Heat. While it sucks Lin had a terrible game, even superstars have bad games or even series. It seems you've basically using Lin having a bad game to jump on him. You haven't shown anything resembling objectivity in your assessment of Lin on the board.
he didnt do that bad in the regular season, what are you talking about? hes no john wall, he did pretty decent for a guy who went undrafted did u expect him to get a 20/10 every game?
By that time it'll be too late. Also, you are wrong. Anytime Lin is on the bench, LOF's go freakin crazy.
Let me ask you this, do you think Lin is "just a back-up that was in the right place at the right time and any mediocre player could have put up those numbers in his situation?"
No. I expect him to have some form of consistency. That's all. Beverley has been consistent every single time he hits the floor. No, he doesn't score. He just does everything else........consistently. How many PG's in the league averaged a block a game towards the end of the season? Please, anyone, tell me one thing that Lin does consistently. Just one.
Yessir! It's amazing how many players have unbelievable, NBA type talent playing for team nobody in another league. Although I think we overpaid for Lin, he is the perfect example. Some players just need to opportunity. It seems Aaron Brooks and Beverly are best of friends. What has AB taught Beverly? Better yet, what will AB teach Beverly offensively? Great from out of no where pick-up. Bring Chuck Hayes back just to teach Greg Smith. Smith reminds me of a taller, more lengthy version of Hayes. Let him play 18 minutes a night behind Asik. Beautiful.
