Doubtful that he would have stayed on to take JVG's job after they fired him. Assistant coaches have done it in the past, but I don't think he was at that point that he'd screw over a friend to get a head coaching gig.

 

We should just spend all of our money like the Nets. They are in such great position to win a championship.

 

Jamison was too busy shredding the Spurs for 6points and no rebounds. smh.

 

Here's the thing - neither Jamison or Fisher would make us a contender. They might make us better, but not good enough.

Every roster spot wasted on a known mediocre veteran means one less gamble, and these gambles have a small probability of paying off and making us a contender. Signing veterans doesn't do this.

 

This whole idea is dumb. Fisher was traded here and refused to come here. No way we could have signed him. Jamison signed in July before the Harden trade. No way he comes here. As for McGrady, he's probably not coming here if he has a chance to go to the Spurs.

 

These "bargain scrubs" got us to the playoffs in a hotly contested Western Conference. If we were in the East , we would have more than 50 wins. We're not winning a ring yet but we have an extremely bright future ahead of us.

 

lets be optimistic.

...all about money, but wisely invested to earn more in the future. potential and experience will be coming in the future.

As I said in my first post in the thread - not necessarily wanting TMac, Fisher or Jamison... but rather veteran leadership in general... maybe we wouldn't have looked so shellshocked the first quarter against OKC. These youngsters need some guidance - and not from a dinosaur like McHale, who played in a different generation....

 

We are the youngest team in the nba with great cap space to get another star and we are winning. you want us to be like the knicks with isiah thomas overpaying for tallent or like orlando who was screwed a couple years ago withturk..

 

Lin definitely isn't worth his contract. It makes it difficult to trade because it's a bad contract as well. Maury thought he was being so slick with the way he structured that deal so NY wouldn't match, but it may come back to haunt him in the end when it's tough to move. I'd much rather see a Beverly-Brooks combo out there.
