You dont think if Lin was in Vazquez's place he wouldnt put up the same assist numbers? You think if Vazquez was in Lin's place he would still put up 9 assists?
Sorry worng again! Avery Bradley is 22 (just starting since Rondo got injured) and put up 15pt(7-14) 3reb 4ast 3stls in his FIRST playoff start.
Do I think Vazquez is a better passer and playmaker than Lin? YES. Do I think Vazquez would do better here? YES.
I just don't understand why Mchale gets the blame whenever Lin has bad games. Even if Lin plays a lot of minutes, he gets the blame and vice versa. Its sort of like Damn if you do, Damn if you don't with Mchale towards Lin. I also find it ridiculous that LOF's defend Lin's confidence like he is a child or baby. Lin is old enough to be responsible for his own confidence, regardless of external forces, in my opinion. Lastly, Lin will currently not have the freedom he had in New York because there is a proven and better player than him in James Harden. This would also be the case if Lin hadn't gotten injured and played games with Carmelo Anthony when he was still in NY. The bottom line is Lin needs to prove himself and be more consistent to be considered a second option in this team. And proving himself doesn't mean being spoon fed like a baby by McHale (which LOF's advocate for).
LMAO! Yeah he's also overpaid. Lof arguments: Hater! You are jealous! Its coach's fault! Thank you. Building a grow ass man confidence? LOL Its up to Lin to play well, lets see how he's going to respond in game 2.
McHale didn't develop another Rocket player this year any more or any less than he developed Jeremy. Jeremy will be fine.
What? Grevis who is a worse defender than Lin? Like GV is just awful on defense. GV has a lower TS% & efg% than Lin would be a more reliable second scoring option? GV is a below average scorer & far more inefficient than Lin. GV 50% TS 47efg% Lin 54 TS% 49 efg% NBA average for a PG 54TS% 49efg% GV has a lower FG% & also an identical 3p%. GV needs the ball in his hands to be effective just like Lin. GV has a higher AST% (45% vs 30%) but his USG of 23% trumps Lin 20% USG. Clutch fans where we complain that our current PG is a unreliable scoring option & we call for a PG who is even more unreliable offensively than the player we currently have.
yeah this thread is the apitomy of a LOF's thread. Lin sucks, mchale sucks. nothing else to say except that if Mchale really didn't care to develop lin he would be on the bench next to t rob because lin is not our best pg
Don't have one. I know what he is and don't lie to myself about what he isn't. I want him to succeed so much because his success means the team succeeds but if it walks like a duck, sounds like a duck....
Why? The dudes averaging the same amount of points except he takes two more shots than Lin, and his 3pt% is the same, so if anything he'd be worse here because you know Harden needs to dominate the ball and he's actually a les efficient shooter than Lin. He's the sole playmaker and that's why he gets those 9 assists. Yea he maybe a little better passer than Lin, but if anything it's marginal and probably a result of higher usage rate. Not to mention Vasquez is two years older. I do think he's underpaid, but that doesn't mean Lin is overpaid. Everyone's just getting worked up because of the huge stinker Lin just put up. But overall he's had a good year and hopefully he can bounce back
All the Lin haters are going to look so stupid when Lin starts playing the like the future Hall of Famer he is going to be. In 2-3 years he will be All NBA. Book it. His talent is so good. Anyone who doesn't see it is a fool. He just needs to learn the game and tighten up some of his weaknesses. When he does, he's going to be able to get a good shot basically whenever he wants.
Your overestimating what you can get for 8 million in terms of starting pgs. Of the 29 other starting pgs, 13 of them get paid more than Lin. Also, there are 5 more who are in their rookie contracts who are getting severely underpaid for their worth (Irving, Curry, Lillard, and Wall will likely get max or near max contracts. And I'll include Vasquez as 8 mil+ since you think so highly of him.) Lin's contract is reflective of a top 19 point guard. Has he lived up to his contract during the regular season. Definitely. Judging whether Lin has gotten worse since last year is difficult to do, since most of his stats from last year came from when he was the main facilitator and has a different role this year. What would he do with a similar role in Houston is the only way to compare. But all we can go by are the 4 games that Harden hasn't played. In those games, he averaged 22 points and 7 assists playing 3 of 4 games against top 10 defenses. But obviously it's too small a sample. Personally I think he has gotten slightly better, but that's just my opinion.
Lin couldn't have of developed himself during the off season due to the surgery, it's his first year as a true starter and his first playoff game, just give the kid a break and hope that he will adapt to the playoffs in the following games. Lin will get better, he has shown that he had definitely developed his game this season as his numbers were higher than when he first started playing.
lol at vaz doing better here, statwise. heck even cp3s production would go down with harden here. jeez
Look at the Spurs, they're are even more Iso-heavy than the Rockets, and it works because they have the multiple top level talent.
I'm pretty sure Dragic's numbers right now are better. And Dragic and Lowry didnt have to play with a ball dominant 2 in Harden. So obviously their numbers will be better. I'm sure if Lin were Lowry or Dragic's place he'd be putting up better numbers than both. But anyway, this is not a Lin vs Dragic/Lowry. Lets just hope he bounces back next game like he has shown throughout the season
