Lets be honest. T Rob sucks and Smith is a role player at best.

His ability to stretch the floor and knockdown open jumpers would have been huge tonight. Ibaka would be forced out of the paint instead of blocking everything our unathletic players threw up.

Huge loss in this particular series.

Patterson would definitely have helped if the Rockets kept him through the later half of the season and subsequent playoffs, I believe we'd be at 6th seed and challenging well because of the continuity of the team.

But that hides the fact that the team has no offense or plays in the half court set which kills us.

Atleast when Patterson was here we had a roll or pop man for that money midrange shot, we have ZERO mid range game now.

Daryl Morey made a very stupid trade. Trading your two starting forwards when the team was starting to gel. With patterson, at least u have some low post presence and morris is a guy that can stretch the floor.
From what i have seen, thomas robinson is nothing more than a role player at best (and right now that is a stretch). Greg Smith is just a good back up or bench guy. Its just bad. The rockets got basically nothing from that trade.
If not for this trade, we will probably be the 6th seed playing denver right now with better chemistry. This sucks to be honest

Patterson would have made a huge difference. Maybe it would have been a 20 point loss instead of a 29 point loss, lol.

Don't forget if we had his 6 rebounds we...would've still been outrebounded by the Thunder.

    Hahaha. Lol

So let me get this straight...we lost last night's game to the best team in the west, a team we lost to 3 out of 4 times in the regular season, because we traded Patterson? It wasn't the turnovers, the poor shooting, the lack of rebounding....it was because Patterson wasn't on the floor?

Is this gonna be a built in excuse for everything that doesn't go the Rockets' way? If tomorrow, Harden tears his ACL, Asik gets food poisoning, or Jeremy Lin gets hit by a bus, will that be because Morey traded Patterson too?

If you want to say TRob sucks that's one thing. If you want to say Patterson would have helped last night, that's another. But please don't act like we lost last night because of the Patterson trade. That shows an enormous lack of intelligence.

We wouldn't have won the game with Patterson. We wouldn't win the championship with Patterson. But that doesn't change the fact that we would be better with Patterson both short-term and long-term. We got nothing in that trade. TRob can't get on the court when we're down 30 for goodness sake. You people who say Patterson is a dime a dozen just don't make any sense to me. If he is, then I guess the Rockets don't have any pocket change, because the current PF's they are putting out there aren't nearly up to Patterson's level.

The only time we beat the Thunder was WITHOUT Patterson. The night we traded him away no less.

The other two times they were manhandled by the Thunder.

It really had more to do with Jeremy Lin playing well. Lin if he plays well like he did that night makes the Rockets offense very hard to stop. Any time the Lin AND Harden play well together and they usually beat anyone they are up against.

Lin played Horrible last night and Harden played "Alright" and Parsons had a moment or two...Asik wasn't good on defense...this had more to do with our best players not rising up to the moment as it usually does.

Patterson wasn't going to help with getting rebounds and we have no idea if he would have been shook just like many of the other players. It's like we've made Patterson into this mythical player that makes everyone better around him, makes every mid range shot, plays good defense, and could get his team going. Patterson was just another shooter.

The only time HOU beat OKC was coming off the Allstar break, when both teams weremrested. The other two times HOU played OKC were when HOU was on the 2nd half of b2b against rested OKC teams. One of these games was on the same day as Sasha McHale's funeral.

The only time HOU beat OKC was also when Delfino played 42.5 minutes at PF (with Motiejunas playing the other 5.5 minutes). Spacing was an important factor the only time HOU beat OKC.

And none of that has anything to do with Patrick Patterson. It's not like this team needs Patterson to succeed at all. The guy is completely replaceable and will be replaced in the offseason I have no doubt...either by one of our guys taking the next step or Morey bringing in a vet to replace him.

I get what you are saying, he could have helped space the floor last night...but if the Rockets want to space the floor they have the personnel they just go small and do it. It won't matter though, not if Lin and Asik are playing the way they did...or if Parsons gets in foul trouble or Harden doesn't dominate. It doesn't matter. Those guys have to play great games for the team to have a chance at it, that has always been the case. Especially Lin, if you look at all our big games we've one the pattern is Lin playing well.

Robinson couldn't even get playing time in a complete blowout last night. That shows how much he sucks right now.

You can't say we lost the trade long term none of us know that, trobs just a rookie. Most ppl besides ppl here seem to know big men take longer to develop. Now I will say short term, sure it hurt our chances this season. In the longer term morey took th gamble with the younger player with More upside. Him being the 5th pick made it even sweeter. It's rare to see a top 5 pick traded unless its a blockbuster deal. This was a risk I'm sure every team in our position would make.

Best shooter on Rockets traded for nothing and we struggle with halfcourt offense what a surprise

it does seem like Morey has an obsession with trading for lottery busts, trying to recreate the Rafer for Lowry magic

    After Hill/T-Will/T-Rob/Flynn/Thabeet though...

Morey said the trade would probably hurt us in the short term and make it tough on the coaching staff. In his mind players like Patterson can be signed relatively easy. First you need to find star(s) by taking low risk high reward gambles on guys like T-Rob. Eventually you hope that one pans out.

PPat didn't even play on one of the worst teams in the NBA. Not missing him at all.
