isolations are called plays usually when a ball handler finds a favorable matchup, the rest of the team will clear out to create space. simply dribbling the ball in front of your man while a play develops, or waiting for a screen is not an iso.. the game thread people were saying we were running isolation when we werent.. in this thread an iso is whenever harden has the ball..
The villain is relying too much on transition offense. The Rockets offense has been fool's gold. It works in the regular season when the pace of the game is ultra-fast, but when the playoffs kick in and the Rockets are forced to play half-court offense? Wow... we look like CRAP.
Exactly. It was something that was brought up before and agreed upon- the run and gun offense is surely a liability come play-offs.
You would think as the season ends, they would have added some wrinkles to our offense. But nah ... too lazy to work on it
Last night first qrt for example. Harden, Lin, and Parsons were doing an ISO show. Maybe one pick was set the whole qrt. Go back and watch the video again, you will understand. Basically, our "set play" is one of Harden, Lin and Parsons will bring the ball up, pass 1 or 2 times between the 3 of them. Then one of them will stop the ball and begin to ISO. I didn't see any mismatch occurred. It wasn't like they were trying to create mismatch when they passed the ball around. It was at best just to find one of them in a relatively good location on the court to start their ISO. Pay attention to our offense. I doubt it will change too much in game 2, just see it in Wednesday's game. We use very few PnR. It was also laughable in the beginning, the plan was to lob the ball inside and ask our bigs to create some points against one of the best big combos in the league. Our bigs, throughout the season rarely had the chance to create their own shots were trusted to do that in the beginning of their first playoff game. It felt like our players just didn't understand the intensity of a playoff game. That is due to lack of experience, which is normal, but our coach definitely didn't prepare them for one either.
heheh great:grin:...nice one my son...REPPED...there is no formula to life..life is unpredictable...except when it's not......sometimes the dumbest tactic will harvest the best results....
