Lin was horrible but saying Beverley was good last night is stretching it a bit. Beverley looked ok because he was running all over the place and made some nice steals but look at his whole play last night. Beverley played the PG spot the whole time he was in. One of the jobs by the PG is to protect the team from transition baskets. He kept crashing the boards for offensive rebounds exposing the Rockets for fast breaks. Westbrook and crew has a field day. He also does not have any BBall IQ. Did you like that pass to the stands? How about not recognizing mismatches and just dribbling in the perimeter waiting for Harden to get a clear out?
Did you actually think they were going to win this series if Lin and everyone played well and if you did why?
The game was lost when Parsons went to the bench with three very suspect fouls in the first four minutes of the second quarter. He was gaining confidence, we were running, and our defense was playing well. When he went out, we had Beverly, Harden, Lin, and Delfino all having to play at the same time for the majority of the second qaurter. That lineup just cant compete with their bigs. We didnt lose the game in the second quarter, but Parsons is our catalyst, and his foul trouble hurt until the game was out of hand.
Agree. Even though Terrence Jones is a rookie, he brings much more offense and some shot blocking to the table. Having Smith and Asik as your 4 and 5 brings zero offense and affords OKC to crowd both Harden and Lin on the perimeter. Hell TJ can drag Ibaka to the 3pt line at least where as Smith can't.
Totally agree. This is a 100% learning experience for this very young Rocket team. Seeing them get spanked last night was not surprising at all. I would love to see them at least get one win in Houston so they can get an extra playoff game under their belt.
That was a more worse rockets team then the one that lost to Pheonix. OKC did nothing special they could lose to the clippers IMO.
1) playing one on one basketball lost us this game, if this team doesn't get good ball movement they are in trouble 2) yes I believe houston can beat okc. there is always a way, now will we find it, probably not but there is always a way! 3) I could be wrong in this thought but I really wish Aaron brooks would see more time! I think the only way we win is we put as much offense out on the floor as we can...
Losing a game where you get blown out by 35 points is never on a single player. Losing a game where you lose by less than 10 points can sometimes be attributed to a player or coach. There's a difference. What I find interesting is how many people don't credit OKC's defense for a significant part of this win. Players don't play in a vacuum. Individual poor performance, or good team performance by the opponent can all contribute to poor individual games. OKC is a great team. I'm not sure what folks expect when the Rockets are outmatched at every position on the Roster except James Harden, with superior chemistry, experience and coaching. However, it seems like the never ending Rorschach test of Jeremy Lin will continue for the entire play offs. Every game is some sort of final judgement of Lin's career or potential.
Harden lost us the game? From what I watched, we played extremely timid and had a huge drop in confidence. No one played well at all, not even Harden but it is hardly his fault OR even Lin's fault. Why are we trying to crucify Lin when this is his first playoff game? Lamarcus and Roy both played like crap, as do many players that are "rookies" to the playoffs. What's important is to see how they adjust. Though Harden had a great playoffs last year, he is a vastly different role now so he needs to adjust too. TLR Team young, many playoff rookies, first game is ALWAYS bad new ones, stop trying to crucify select people - this is a team game and everyone needs to just recollect and focus on what's to come. Instead of saying TRADE HIM or GET RID OF HIM/WHOEVER --TOO BAD, we can't make any trades right now anyways so you either root for our team for the next few games or you really don't care about the Rockets and you only care about a select few players that get your rocks off. I'm looking at you all <insert player name> only fans.
As what McHale always says after every loss, poor shooting/lack of defense/lack of ball movement cost us the game. Also, I could see everyone from Rocket aside from Harden was uneasy. No playoff experience and we suck as Road team (multiply by playoff hostility) cost us the game. Also, all this hating going on in this forum does nothing to help the cause. We are a young team about to get our playoff experience and contend for titles for years to come. So grow up impatient fan and enjoy it for what it is.
Did you expect us to blow out the #1 team in the west in game 1 playing IN OKLAHOMA? jeremy played bad but did you not see the rest of the team? no one else really did ****
What? Harden was terrible too. 20 points on 19 shots is terrible. His defense was also bad and those forced drives which lead to turnovers most certainly didn't help. NO one deserves a pass this game.
