That's not what I saw. It was a PG by committee setup with a little bit of everything mixed in between. Harden, Lin, Parsons were doing ISOs similar to what we saw in the last 2 games. Even Delfino had ISO plays later in the game. I don't know what McHale was thinking but they did say something about planning to have variation in their offense tonight.

Honestly, I thought it was a stupid as sheet plan. 7-man rotation on a Rockets run-n-gun offense either means they were planning on abandoning that style and going for some sort of half-court offense, which we suck at, or run the run and gun and tire all the starters by the 3rd quarter. McHale played Delfino at the 4 AGAIN...while benching TJones until the 3rd....like WTF??? The man drives me crazy I tell you.

I agree with this cat, i'm sure this thread is miserable to read. So on that note I leave this to keep our hope up for game 2.

They started fronting yao. That won't work with Durant.

w/o a doubt we need an experienced PF to finish this series.

since that is not going to happen, just play hard and smart.

play hard and smart for the experience.

you'll need it for next year.

+1 To add, I saw one of the worse ball movement and coach adjustment (if any) from Houston. McHale is just being abused by Scott Brooks. Hopefully, he learns quick and rests his starters.

Well, can't say I was surprised by the outcome. I fully expected OKC to win on their home floor with a decent shot at a complete blow out.

OKC is straight up a better team, with more talent, more experience, and better chemistry than the Rockets.

Multiple players had very bad games.

Part of it is being dominated at their position in the front court (Smith/Tjones/Asik could barely even get a shot off in the paint), part of it was poor 3 point shooting allowing the Thunder to clog the lane (8-36 from 3, Parsons, Lin and Harden were 2/15 combined from the 3 point line), and part of it was solid defensive strategy on the part of the Thunder.

We all know that the Rockets' primary vulnerability is a lack of players that could generate offense. Containing Harden/Lin is and always has been the game plan for teams looking to shut us down.

OKC did an exceptional job in terms of packing the paint, tiring them out by forcing them through screens on defense, and applying pressure through traps.

The Rockets have been able to sneak past teams who didn't match up well in other positions to make up for it to some degree when Lin or Harden aren't having good games. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for OKC. OKC was able to match up man to man against Asik, Parsons and Smith and have an advantage.

OKC has a roster where Harden and Lin BOTH have to have very good games for us to win a game.

A lot of knee jerking here. The idea of play off experience is that it's a learning experience. Learning experiences rarely involve pulling out a win, and often include getting your head beaten in badly especially when you're against a Championship contending team and on the road.

Lots of games still to go.

There was a point where Harden, Lin, and Delfino all called for the ball and Asik inbounded to Delfino lol.

they looked totally lost and as the backcourt goes, so does the Rockets. Lin looked like trash and Harden looked tight. McHale needs to play the team that he played all season. I have no idea of why he didn't play Francisco Garcia. OKC played 11 players before the game was totally gone. We played 7...Dance with the one that brought you. That's that **** that got Avery Johnson fired in Dallas!

McHale showed how it was his first time in the playoffs as a coach. Ne looked over matched.

Brooks totally outcoached McHale in this game. Brooks packed the paint and took out penetration from ISOs. McHale really should have ran more PnR or ball movement. Also, on every shot attempt by OKC, he had 2 guys run back on defense no matter what to take away fast breaks. It was brilliant. They were able to do this because McHale for a long period of time had Asik or Smith as the 5. Delfino or Parson were manning the 4 spot which meant they can crash the offensive boards.

I'll bet you any amount of money he absolutely gets dominated again in game 2. There must be a lot of fans that became rockets fans in 2005 or something... I'm glad I've been following this franchise since the mid 80's I know what a championship team is and looks like. I know what a championship point guard is... Lin is waaaaaaay off.

You sure you watched the game? He didn't played pg on the ball mostly last night. I saw him being useless and camp for 3s in the corner. Beverly was the PG last night, so was Parson, Harden, and even Delfino.

You can say many things about Dak, but I'm sure he did watch the game and he is posting what he saw. You may not agree with him, but I also watched the game and your characterization of what Lin did last night is not based on last nights game....its based off of what you guys have erroneously been saying for most of the season.

For a guy who supposedly did not handle the ball all night and just camped in the corner, I sure saw Jeremy Lin dribbling the ball an awful lot. I didnt realize that Harden, Delfino and Parsons look EXACTLY like Jeremy Lin.

Lin was hiding in the corner, didn't show any leadership which so many on this board says he has and is... Question is how bad does he want it? Is he just happy to be in the playoffs?

The athleticism and length of the Thunder were just giving the Rockets a lot of trouble. Roxs lack that type of player.
