Also, does that mean Conley is also mediocre, because I think you compared him to him in another thread. IMO, I think Conley is NOT mediocre but is currently better than Lin and on a stronger team. Although you must also consider years spent on the court by the two players and their respective teams.
Conley is tied for first(g.Hill) as the best defensive PG, theres a reason the Griz are the #1 Defensive team Griz have 3 starters who are top3(Gasol,Allen,Conley) in there position defensively Conley doesnt need to put up huge numbers with 2 of the best post players= reason he is overlooked
Exactly I put up Adv. stats to show there is really is no difference between Lin, Dragic, and Lowry But dragic and Lin are trending upward, as both have gotten better post all star Post all star Lowry- playin worse, team is play .500 ball Dragic - putting up 16/7 , team still losing 9 out of 10 Lin - putting up 15/6, team is winning .600 people need to have patience if Lin can put up 45%/38% concisely next year regardless of point avg. , its a + for houston
Sorry Statfans, meant to say Dragic instead of Lin. Obviously with Lin starting at PG we did not win the ballgame.
Gotcha lol. Idk if we would have won, but no doubt Lowry would have played better, he's got some playoff games under his belt.
Dragic gave westbrook fits with his quickness on defense, and did not shy away in playoff situations, as evidenced by his 24pt fourth quarter againt the Spurs in the playoffs. There is no doubt Dragic is a better player and if the Harden deal happened first Morey would have given that 4th year payer option. That being said, Lin is a good player, not as good as Goran or Kyle, but not chopped liver either, lets see how he responds as Westbrook s way more athletic than him and Jeremy needs to use his intelligence to find his game, should be fun. DD
I think DD meant 2010 playoffs when Suns played Spurs. Yes, Dragic had ONE great quarter out of 16 playoff games. What happened to the other 63 quarters? If you remove that one quarter, Dragic's FG was 38% and 22.8% from 3's. He was still young and not trying to knock on Dragic but not nearly as impressive as you stated.
What can he do? He has limited skills as of now, inexperienced, and poorly coached. He is supposed to come up with adjustments on his own? If we can run, he's superb at finding cutters to the basket. If it's halfcourt offense, he needs to shoot. He has trouble with his jumpers again.
Say what? Goran had PLENTY of bad games during his run in the play offs in 2009/10. Out of 16 games he played in the play offs that year... 2 games scoring .000 - 0/2 (rd 1, gm 4), 0/5 (rd 2, gm 2) Rd 1, gm 5, 1/5 (0.200), 7 points Rd 2, gm 1, 2/7, (0.286) 4 points Rd 3, gm 2, 1/6 (0.167), 3 points Rd 3, gm 5, 1/5 (0.200), 3 points 7/16 HORRIBLE games. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/dragigo01/gamelog/2010/ Tell you what, come back after Lin has 10 play off games under his belt, then we can have a reasonable comparison. Dragic being better is still an opinion and can be debated. As for the 4th year option, that just wasn't going to happen. Morey values flexibility above all else. Dragic isn't a superstar and Morey will always want the freedom to include him in a trade package (much like Asik and Lin) if it results is an All Star caliber player. Honestly, I'm not sure whether it's your memory or you're just intentionally making stuff up...
lin outperforming dragic and lowry in efficiency start of this season with 18.71 while dragic is 17.32 and lowry 15.70. So far so good.
