I'm not gonna comment on Lin or Berveley but I wanted to say high-five for your Breaking Bad username.

Nope, coaches stick with their start 5 because they are supposed to be the best players on the team. If they don't play like one, there's nothing wrong with pulling them. Tony Parker was benched in the 4Q in a Spurs LOSS last week because Popovich thought he played horribly.

Whether he's worth 8 million or not is whatever to me.

I just don't think the idea of spending 8 million on a second option that does the exact same thing and plays the same way as our first option is wise. It's not much of an option is it then? If a team is good at packing the paint and makes it difficult to get inside, then we are screwed because both our first and second option have the same skill sets. When Harden struggled against Marc Gasol and Randolph, where was Lin? Oh right he was struggling too. When Harden struggled against Dwight and Pau, where was Lin? Oh right he was struggling too. Beverley does good at the point, his strengths aren't redundant with Harden's, and the extra cap space from dumping Lin and three of our "extra" PFs would allow us to get a very very good PF, maybe even Josh Smith.

    Bev/Harden/Parsons/Smoove/Asik

    +max contract space.

I like that a lot more than what we got now. Getting Lin was before we knew we could get Harden. Now that we got Harden, we tried it out, but I think Morey will recognize that we aren't maximizing potential here and contract value wise Beverley is out way ahead of Lin. How many championships have you seen won when the first and second option's skill sets are as redundant as ours is? I'd rather Lin not take the ball out of Harden's hands, I'd rather Beverley's defense, and I'd rather have a strong PF starter instead of Greg Smith who got dominated by Ibaka all night.

So at pf, you wouldn't get a rebounder cuz it's redundant w

So at pf, you wouldn't get a rebounder cuz it's redundant with Asik's game? Nor a stretch 4 cuz Delfino, Parsons also shoots 3s? You can never have enough playmakers.

And you do realize if you paid attention to Bev and not hating on Lin that Bev gets blown by all the time and will foul out every game as a starter, right? Wait, you think he'll pace himself better as a starter.. Then he'd be Lin without the playmaking.

Lin had a terrible game. He had a good 3 months to close out the season and every game he does bad posters like you come out like bashing Lin is a quarter pounder w/ cheese and you were on a 3 month hunger strike.

Just cut it out with the hate. Ill bet anyone that when Lin has a great game and Bev has a bad one, people will still say the same thing and switch to "he's inconsistent!!"

    Beverly is way better.
    Jlin is a dud.

Time to ship Jlin and start Beverley, surely this would please most fans in this thread.

Why are you caring about money?
First, that is not your money.
Second, Rockets are in the good place now. They have enough cap space.
Finance is not the issue for Rockets.
It's really frustrating to see emotional fans bringing up this kind of "someone's money" discussion again and again while money is not the issue toward one expected game loss.

btw, you should know Lebron James scored only 8 points in playoff 2011.

“It seems like everybody’s perception of me is very bipolar,” Lin said. “To one group, it’s overpaid, overrated; to another group, it’s underpaid, underrated, underdog. It’s funny to me because there’s no real balance. Why can’t I just be a young player who’s shown some potential and has a lot of learning to do?”

It was his FIRST playoff game. The more he plays and gains more experience, the better he'll get.

Even if we had Dragic, or Lowry, we would expect the same result for this game. Every Thunder players were jacked up for this game, they weren't going to be denied.

No, what gets old is Lin's inconsistent play and the LOF adoration for him no matter what he does.

Yes and when he craps all over the rest of the games the new LOF excuse will be "wait, it's only his 1st playoff series. Give the guy a chance. "

PB should earn starter minutes next year. Should it be for the Rockets? I don't know, but the kid can play and has a motor that doesn't stop. I would never ever say no to a guy like that...

    Noah
    MKG
    Manimal

Those guys who go 100% of the time every time may make some odd plays at times, but that comes with experience. I'll take a guy who never quits as opposed to one who is too talented to think his presence on defense/the glass/making small plays are needed.

There is no way you can justify paying Jlin $8 mln for his basketball output. PBev is the basic equivalent at a significant discount. Right now, I bet Russel has more respect for PBev than Lin.

We are better if Lin's the 6th man

Now I’m not saying PB is better and we see many times Lin was the one getting the whole team’s offense going. However playoffs pressure is much greater. We can’t afford Lin to be passive right now. Beverly is always fearless and not afraid of making mistakes. He also have experience in games like this in Europe. This is what we need during playoffs. Lin played like **** when he’s passive. Especially now we rely heavily on Harden, Beverly or even AB is a better fit. McHale should let Lin come off the bench and stagger Harden and Lin’s min as much as possible.
