The producers said a while back that this season wouldn't really just be the thrid book. It would be books 3,4,and 5 together since they happen at the same time chronologically. They were going to go chronologically and do parts of all the books in the order they happened.
That's not accurate. 3 and 4 are sequential. 4 and the first half (roughly) of 5 are concurrent. They have said that they're splitting the 3rd book in half (roughly) and Season 3 is the first half of the 3rd book.
Wow, no one posted here because they were watching the first fifteen minutes of OKC prison-raping the Rockets. Don't know the outcome of the game as of yet. It tightened up. However: Awesome. Episode.
I thought the game started at 9:30 and watched all of GoT instead. Looks to have been a wise decision. I only wish GoT lasted 3 hours. Then maybe I would've missed the train wreck completely.
I jizzed so hard today. Reading that in the books and having it set up so perfectly was more that I could wish for . THANK YOU HBO!
Its pretty obvious what is going to happen by the end of the series. Even though books 6 and 7 have not been written yet but I predict that the White Walkers kill many men and finally Daenrys will come to the rescue of the realm after defeating many of her enemies. The dragons will kill all the walkers an the book will end.
Best episode of the season so far but that's not really saying much. I felt like a lot of the scenes dragged on and were uninteresting, particularly the ones with Varys and Cersei. Tyrion has been demoted to poor sap and is just pathetic now. Nice to see Jamie get pwned, yet him and Brienne developing their relationship together was good. Bran is still meh. Piggy bores me, and it didn't really make much sense for all the Crows to fight each other. I get that they were all miserable and starving, but it never felt like there were two factions, just a few rogue Crows. And hooray for Dany finally doing something relevant other than being naked. It only took nearly 2.5 seasons. She finally has some muscle to pull rather than name dropping that she's a Targaryen.
Spoiler The whole plotline with Daenerys is boring. It doesn't tie into the main plot. Even in the books, she still hasn't arrived at Westeros yet. I'm not sure if it ever will. Also, I'd like to see how they make her riding a dragon not seem ridiculous on TV.
Yeah the ambitious woman commanding respect role is hard to play. Male audience will probably not take the character seriously.
I suppose hatching three dragons that the world hadn't seen for 300+ years was a minor plot point for you?
Last two episodes where great! Finally something happening (King's Slavers hand cut off and the dragon scene)!
