Please try and replicate this deal to India this coming December. I was trying to book a ticket from Houston to Baltimore. It was $250 higher roundtrip than flying to DC on the same dates on the same airline. Your post was absolutely dumb. I'd rather spend $1,600 flying to India than go to Pakistan FOR FREE!!!
My buddy said he scored an awesome deal for a flight to Pakistan for training camp. He will probably beat me in basketball upon his return.
How do I piss you off every time I post? Explain. And the cheapest I found in December to India is $885.
I should've said you annoy me, but you'd still want to know why? Why did you post a two year old thread on flights to Pakistan calling him a rookie? I don't even know how Pakistan and India are similar in your eyes. If he booked a ticket to Bombay and you come back and say well my ticket to Delhi was $500 cheaper, then I can understand. Indians, especially Indians here in America, HATE Pakistan. We hate the country and we hate the people. You're going to say you have some Indian friends. Good for you! That's great. The majority of the Indians I know HATE Pakistan. Your post was annoying and very irrelevant considering that was TWO years ago and the deal posted was to Pakistan. I read through all 11 pages and found no mention of India. Why did you post it?
Well go tell da1 then. You probably spent more time posting that two year old thread than helping him find a better deal that would've been more useful to this topic.
I have visited both. And they are much more similar than you (or your parents) would like you to believe. One of the things I learned during my six weeks of backpacking through India is that people on both sides are more curious of people on the other side of the border. Indian-Americans that you describe need to grow up. Sounds like the view most Indian Kashmiris have of India and Indians.
I'm Indian and that is some of the most childish bull**** ever. Moreover, what is your problem? So he posted a deal he got to the region that was lower than yours and I'm certain he posted it in jest yet you've decided to turn this into some proxy internet tussle over india and pakistan. If Pakistan were safer, I would get on a plane to Lahore or Karachi in an instant. (or if I knew someone there that I could stay with) There is so much history and as much as you may despise them, until 1947 they were the same thing so their history is our history. Instead of fighting over nothing, take a moment to learn about the other country. There is so much to learn and once you do that you'll learn there really aren't many reasons to get angry.
Great post. If that $497 deal to Lahore were still available, it would still make sense for da1 to fly to Lahore, pay the marginal Pakistani visa fee, and cross the border into India (the Indian border crossing is less than 15 miles from the Lahore airport). And Amritsar in India is only another 20 miles from this border.
And half your itinerary is in November. I got two tickets for $1079.34 leaving December 15 and coming back January 1, which is PEAK season. Again if you're saying this isn't a great deal you are stupid, because it's obvious you're smart enough to not be ignorant.
OK I'm going to man up and apologize to slandballa. I just got a little worked up when I saw that paki thread. He's a good, intelligent man so I'm just going to leave it at that. I fly to India every year (usually through london, Frankfurt, or dubai) and not once did it cross my mind to fly through Pakistan to save 500 bucks. Its just not worth it IMO. Its one place i never want to step foot in. At least when I'm flying that second leg, I'm with nothing but Indians. I'm fine with that. Flying with a bunch of pakis/Muslims would make me feel uneasy. And there's nothing wrong with that as I'm sure every soul with a brain would rather fly to India than pakistan.
Chances are if you're going to india you're going for a wedding or to visit family. And theres a good chance you have family in both cities. I always fly into one and fly out of the other. Its 50 USD to get to Bombay from Delhi or vice versa. From my experience its quite common
I agree on the first part but not the second. But in peak season I don't think the fare would be the same as what he listed even for that strange routing. Also I don't think I would advise anyone on going to India via Pakistan either. You'd have to get a Pakistani visa which for many people of Indian origin is impossible, and it costs quite a lot. Then you'd have to arrange for transportation to the border, get through, and have transportation waiting there for you also, and I believe wagah border has limited hours.
