My response to you is that you are making some very serious allegations given the complete lack of evidence.

These conspiracy theories are tiring. I tend to think they come from watching too much TV. In TV shows, when the criminal is found, everything makes sense. In real life, when the criminal is found, it doesn't always make total sense, which is why people resort to conspiracy theories. It doesn't fit their perception of how things go.

I feel bad because this kid is 19. But there was enough in his life for him to know that murdering innocent people would end up this way. No rational educated human being could possibly think they could get away with something like this in this age of surveillance technology and absence of privacy. Is there a chance he hasn't done it or he was somehow allowed to do it? Yes, as with all things, there's always a tiny chance. How big is that chance? Not big enough to keep him out of a court of law. Let's see the evidence and if he did it, hope everything is done to rehabilitate this mentally disturbed human being. Open society is clearly not a place for this guy at least at present.

Come on, that's not what I mean. In that case, conspiracy is in reference to an inside job by a government agency or people within the said agency.

My initial reaction of anyone that reads infowars or supports anything that Alex Jones says, is that they're simply not very smart. It's funny they call others sheep, but I actually feel it's these conspiracy nuts that are the sheep. If they took a few minutes to actually do some research rather than believe everything that bumbling idiot says, they could see how ridiculous their claims are.

Thank you for this post. It tells me all I think anyone needs to know to understand your point of view in depth.

I suppose a staged moon landing would prove that our government is not above lying to people on a massive scale but in the end I still don't really care too much, at least to spend as much energy on teh subject as some people.

Same response - facilitation, not creation by the FBI.

Of course anything is possible. These guys could be aliens sent by the spaghetti monster to do his bidding. The amount of evidence for your conspiracy and this one are the same.

Besides which, possible vague knowledge of a potential attack is not the same as the FBI facilitating or orchestrating one in a conspiracy.

    Haven't read through the thread.

My question is, how would this help our government in any way if they staged this?

At least 9-11 you could believe we wanted an excuse to invade the Middle East.

Ill be one of the first to question the government, but this time I don't see what the hell we have to gain from this. Tighter immigration control? Controlled selling of pressure cookers? That's just silly.

I don't believe in all this conspiracy nonsense. I do think it is highly possible that there were others working with these two. However, we know they had explosives and guns, as was evidence of the scene throughout the Boston superb. So if they were set up, where did they get the guns and why were they using them? Anyways, what I really wanted to say is I had a dream last night -- dream people, just a dream -- that Russia told us to investigate him, informed him so that he could be sure to stay clean, and then once they cleared him, informed him he was good to go, but to keep a low profile. If there is any conspiracy, that I could possibly believe, although Russian/US relations is not my forte, so I am not sure exactly they would gain from that, and if it would be worth it.

I suppose anything is possible but he, like many others of Checnyian heritage, hated Russia and Russian rule.

#1 While I do believe we only know part of the story, I do not believe that this was some sort of US conspiracy.

Having said that, this is another example/excuse to allow our rights to be eroded. The aftermath of the 9-11 bombings seriously eroded our civil rights as a nation. The government can now legally curtail our rights and do things in the name of national security that were not possible 25 years ago.

From the bold statement that they would wait to Mirandize the suspect, to essentially locking down an entire city, the government knows that the American people will tolerate a compromise based on this irrational over inflated fear of terrorism.

So, I don't think motive is the issue, the real issue is whether it is possible or likely for the government to orchestrate some far reaching conspiracy... and I am open to listen, but it is unlikely in this case.

While I believe a huge piece of the puzzle is missing, most likely a couple of kids with some help, decided to bomb and kill people and we cannot watch everyone, some will slip through and people will die... Just like when American anarchists did in 100 years ago, and McVeigh did it 15 years ago; this too will pass.

Wouldn't be the first time a government has funded an enemy to get to another enemy.

Glenn Beck was FIRED from Fox News (yeah...they let his contract run out...when his ratings where still good). That all you need to know about Beck. If Fox News thinks you are crazy, then you are a real loon.

The man has certainly painted himself into the crazy corner. I'll be interested to hear what Beck has on Monday, but I'm guessing it's going to be BS.

Are you saying the moon landing was staged?

The Chinese would also have to be involved because they TOOK PHOTOS OF THE LANDING SITES WITH THEIR SATELLITE in the last 5-6 years.

Caltex2, stop acting like people who dismiss completely ridiculous conspiracy theories outright are somehow blinded by the big picture...

That would be one awfully vast conspiracy. ;)

No, it's more like I said in the other thread on the D&D: that the people who are freaking out about the Miranda Rights look to Law and Order to understand what the Miranda Rights/5th Amendment are about.

Not FIRED. Let Go. You have no idea why Fox News let him go (No I am not a Glen Beck fan).

What are your alternatives? He demanded too much money? He was a pain around the office (most assuredly true, but...)
