Yup. From what I see, it's the Lin detractors that seem to view Lin as a finished product and don't believe he can improve in the coming years even though he has shown multiple times -- between his first and second years in the league and in the middle of this season -- that he can improve on his game. I see many trade scenarios where he is traded for a similar calibre PG who will be making more than him in the coming years.
It doesn't matter... All of this drama is going to continue through the duration of Lin's contract. After which Lin will walk away from the Rockets so he can be the featured player on a team and because a team will offer Lin a contract that will make Morey do a Melo impersonation and say, "that's ridiculous"... So I'm going to enjoy Lin and his LOFs for the next 2 seasons (possibly only one more season if Morey can talk Alexander into letting him trade Lin) and wish them well on their future endeavors with another franchise.
Jeremy averages 32.2 minutes a game for the season. That's starters minutes. Stop whinning, take your Prozac and just enjoy the game and the fact that Jeremy is a very nice young point guard that is improving. No one is disrespecting him. If he was not appreciated he would not be starting or getting starters minutes.
That's starter minutes and with Lin playing a full 82 game schedule, coming back from a knee injury. WITHOUT BEING REINJURED. Seriously, sometimes other Lin fans make me want to shake them. Tiger moms, yeeesh.
Again i´m talking about consistency. about not being yanked WHEN you play good but when you play bad. which a chance to redeem yourself later in the game.this is the way players learn from their mistakes... if Lin played 40 minutes a game i would still be mad about random benchings as against the Lakers. this happened far to often this season, same as being benched for to long of a period till he was ice cold. if you are okay with these things, fine. i´m not. i´m really happy that he´s healthy though but still think mchale shouldnt do things like that to a promising young player and the back up shouldnt finish games over the starter if he isnt hot as *** or the starter plays like a total bum. but i wont write about lin no more on this board as ppl tend to twist your words in your own mouth.
Yep. It takes the better part of a year to fully recover from knee surgery (in terms of regaining strength & explosiveness, not just healing). Critics wanted Lin to fail so badly, that they were already calling him washed up by November because of his poor start. ... and the Knick fans who wanted him to come back less than 6 weeks after his injury for the playoffs against the Heat were downright crazy.
Lin's time on the bench has been consistent. He always comes out towards the end of the 1st quarter and comes back in a few minutes into the 2nd quarter when Harden goes out. Same pattern typically follows in the 2nd half, out towards the end of the 3rd and back towards the middle of the 4th. There are obvious exceptions like fouls or match up scenarios. If Beverley is effective McHale will leave him in longer. McHale wants a fresh Jetemy Lin to close out games, benching is not punishment. Beverley has had extreme positive effects on the game from a defensive stand point so sometimes he gets extra time if McHale thinks the team needs more defense. This is not punishment as basketball is a team sport sometimes other players play.
Great thread and follow up posts OP. For me, LOH/LOF status comes from troll posts by idiot members who make threads about "is Harden a leader", "McFail this...", or "I'm rational...so why Parson get 40 but Lin don't?!?!" posts. This is everyone's first year together but the board acts like they're on the cusp of contending for the WCF and are one move away from championship. Enjoy the season dimwits. The last 4 haven't been that great. It makes me hate reading the board when posts ***** and moan after a freaking win. I'm not a big McHale fan either, but he's a good coach for the team at this particular point of time. I don't want him extended, but I'm not crazy and delusionally ungrateful for his turnaround of the team that was expected to go no where.
Yes, instead Harden has been accused of being selfish, has been accused of being hard to root for because of his life style, has been accused of doing "evil" things on the court against his own teammates. Don't be so blind.
Yep nothing wrong with disagreeing or good constructive debate but the hate posts and hate threads are just not right.
I don't think there's any actual way of quantifying how many LOFs, LOHs, HOFs, HOHs, trolls, etc. there are. Thus, IMO you cannot without any certainty determine which association is the most prevalent on this board. It could be pretty much any combination of any number of those associations. Anything negative said about anybody on the team can be an actual hater or just a troll trying to rile up actual _OFs, and there's no way of knowing if the people who defend their player from the "haters" (may be trolls) are just more trolls again. Though it's highly unlikely, it's still possible that ALL of the extremists are trolls just trolling each other. You might think, "What kind of loser comes to a forum and has nothing better to do than troll all day long?" You can expect anything from humans on the Internet.
Great post. I hope Jeremy can improve every season and become a consistent player to produce Linsanity-like performance.
