What you said was certainly non level headed. You don't just kill a high-profile terror suspect in a public execution. You keep that man and hope he aides you in finding any one connected to the crime and reveal the true motive. At this point we have people forming notions based on Youtube playlists but in reality we really do not know why this crime was committed. All the indications are that the younger boy was a normal college student. IMO this makes this story very chilling, I'm hoping this is a singular case where the older brother went crazy and dragged the little brother down with him. Hopefully they acted as lone wolfs. Last time i checked we didn't kill the newtown shooter. That guy killed numerous children in cold blood. He more than anyone deserves to be publicly executed IMO.
I remember being at a bar when the Olympic bombing happened and a woman coming up to me and asking me, "why do you have to do this? Why?" And I asked her if she knew who did it even and she admitted she just assumed because it's all the Arabs who did these kinds of things. I explained to her I wasn't arab but she wasn't getting it. So then I asked her about the Oklahoma city bombing. I asked her, "why do you have to do this? why?" she started to explain how that person was crazy and not all white people are going to do these sorts of things. I just smiled.
This would explain a lot if true. The story on Yahoo of people he's talked to that he lived around makes him sound like quite the extremist. "The bible is a ripoff of the Koran." "The US uses the bible to invade countries." etc. Apparently he'd become increasing devout before his death by lead poisoning.
So there is one guy who claims he got attacked and Muslim organizations try to gain some political points out of the whole thing. Interesting. What do they have to say about the possible motive of the bombers?
So - any news on whether the guy could already be interrogated? Motive? By the way, I think he should get all due process rights. I am concerned by tricks like not letting him talk to a lawyer, etc.
Dude's in a hospital, man. And about the whole "due process" complaints in general I've been hearing about: Miranda/the 5th Amendment protects you from self-incrimination. The police don't give a damn about getting a confession from him, because they already have enough to toss him in jail for the rest of his life, and the dude will almost certainly confess when he wakes up to avoid the Feds trying him and shunting him to death row. But they do want to interrogate him about "are they more bombs, did you have accomplices", that sort of thing, and that sort of stuff not dealing with events in the past can go through interrogation without a lawyer.
Apparently, was shot in the throat and has injuries to his tongue. The authorities should just ask him to tweet his motive.
You're just trying too hard. CNN's Peter Bergen tried to tie it to a tea party motive multiple occasions. I wouldn't be so quick to act like I'm omniscient, if I were you. "The media you're watching" isn't the entire media. And yes, I'm aware that the media falsely accuses anyone they can to get ratings. Are you?
Wow. It's sad how people get so tied up in their own modes of thinking and can't shift their paradigms. Most of the people posting here in D&D are quite bright, but will stop at nothing to make the facts fit their mind's projection on the world.
Media turned up the hype on this to 11 for what turned out to be four murders. Now that it's revealed they are Muslim they have to try and downplay the entire event. Lone actors, not representative of Islam, religion of peace, we may never know their motive, etc. http://www.nationalreview.com/article/346146/‘co-exist’-bombers
Senior Republican senator connects Boston Marathon bombing to immigration debate The Boston Marathon bombing has been drawn into the debate about immigration reform after reports the two men suspected of carrying out Monday’s deadly attack were born in the former Soviet Union. “Given the events of this week, it’s important for us to understand the gaps and loopholes in our immigration system,” Grassley, the top Republican on the committee, told the hearing. “While we don’t yet know the immigration status of the people who have terrorized the communities in Massachusetts, when we find out, it will help shed light on the weaknesses of our system. link
