Ever since someone cast that voodoo jinx on him. Poor Bev!

Will someone please un-jinx him before Sunday?

You're right. He will probably foul out the first game. Maybe even the second, but by time game 3 comes around, he will be ready. It's a series. Plus, who knows, in the course of him fouling out in the first two, we may pull out a win.

I repeat. He doesn't have to score to be effective. He does everything else that helps a team win.
Right now, believe it or not, him going head to head with Westbrook may be the key to us beating OKC.

I'd love to see some of that Beverly intensity frustrate Westbrook. Plus the fallout threads here would be hilarious. All kidding aside we need ALL the tricks in the bag this week.

I think the key to playing well in the series is to play Lin more and not have Beverley playing big minutes. Are offense doesn't flow without Lin in the game and to have any chance at all the offense has to be clicking. Maybe you play Beverley the minutes needed for Lin to rest and have him in there when Harden is on the bench and let Lin play for Harden when he is resting.

Anyway I hope Beverley plays great and gets into Westbrook's head some.

People saying that Beverly will frustrate Westbrook need to step back a bit. Westrbook dropped 40 points against Miami in the finals last year. If Wade & Lebron couldn't stop Westbrook, Patrick Beverly isn't going to stop Russell Westbrook.

Goran Dragic frustrated Russell Westbrook last year. There is a difference between stopping and frustrating someone.

If Beverley was in NY last year, he easily would have put up the same numbers as Lin because he's already just as good or better. Don't ask me why, he just is. Beverley got drafted and Lin didn't, case closed, Beverley for the win.

Beverley can't run the offense, that's easy to see. So no he isn't a good as Lin, your point guard needs to be able to get other players involved.

there are two types of pg defenders..
    1) pesky defenders. these type of defenders try to deny the person they are defending the ball by getting up real close and closing the passing lanes. they often gamble and some times they can get easy steals if the inexperienced opponent panics. these type of defenders often have to exert extreme amount of energy because they can afford to.. because they're not meant to play a lot of minutes. if you play them too many minutes their effectiveness diminish exponentially due to fatigue. another problem with these type of defenders is that they usually don't give you much on the offensive end of the court. toney douglas and patrick beverly fits this category of defenders very well. douglas has more experience so his offense is a bit better but beverly is a better defender because of his wingspan and he exerts more energy whenever he gets a chance to play. plus, beverly is a bit more athletic can can block better than douglas.
    2) textbook defenders. these type of defenders do all the right things without having exerting too much energy because they are count on a lot to run the offense and they are usually starters who plays a lot of minutes each night. good textbook defenders are usually very quick and confident that they can cover their own man and still afford to help out. jeremy lin is a good example of this type of defender. his quick first step makes it very difficult for opponents to drive pass him. however, he does have problems with pnr defense but a lot of that has to do with his pnr defense partner too. what lin needs to do a better job at is picking who he can or can not leave to help. when defending a guy like russell westbrook who can shoot lights-out, lin needs to help out less often and he needs to go over screens. but if he does that, asik will not be able to keep westbrook from penetrating deep into the lanes. this is where the second defensive helper needs to improve for the rockets to be successful on the defensive end.

I don't remember Lebron guarding Westbrook and Beverly's role for us is primarily to play tough on the ball defense. Gary Payton in his prime wasn't stopping Westbrook in that one game vs. Miami in the finals last year. That was probably the best single game performance in all of the playoffs last year.
