CNN reports that Tamerlan was interviewed in 2011 on behalf of a foreign government due to his suspected ties to a Muslim extremist group...
I get the older brother seemed like a fundamentalist but the connection still doesn't add up. Its really easy to say ok to play the whole correlation = causation stuff but for an islamic terrorist attack they did this crap at a marathon and hid afterwards. All these terrorist groups proudly display responsibilty because that is the definition of of terrorism, to instill fear to the means of a political end. Most of the time these individuals blow themselves up too. These guys went around and jacked some dude's car , took money out of his ATM and tried to flee. Had religon been a motive it would be displayed much more clearly. I think they were as the uncle described, "losers" who did this crap because they hated everyone and thought better of themselves if they hurt others. Extremists that carry out bombings don't go around and jack cars/money and leave themselves unscathed. They normally scream their jihadi cries and blow up as many people in a public way to send a message.
What we accept to keep America safe in todays world. Lock an entire city down for hours. But not make someone take a five minute background check to buy a gun. We are a strange country
What if the gun was bought from a private seller? Plus, the initial attack wasn't some nuts with guns trying to kill people. They made a homemade bomb and tried to kill a multitude of citizens. What good would have a background check been, then?
Absolutely amazing job done by coordinated law enforcement agencies. I am so proud of the rapid and effective response to the bombing. Investigations of this sort can take time. This one took no time. Justice.
Pretty amazing they took the second suspect alive. I hope this means that we'll have answers to all the questions of motives and affiliations and why they made the different moves they made. Hopefully it will all be more clear if he's able to recover and finally give out some answers.
has anybody checked out his twitter page? apart from one tweet he seemed like a normal kid and had a bunch of stoner friends.
Right, the dozens of interviews given by his former peers and teachers definitely didn't tell us this already
Some more sad news coming out of this whole thing. Once again Islamic groups and Mosques have condemned the attacks. So hopefully people won't try and pull out the false claim that Muslims don't do anything or speak out about terrorism. This is from the same article http://www.theatlanticwire.com/nati...s-lead-multiple-muslim-revenge-attacks/64392/ I hate when people repay a wrong with a wrong. It's really idiotic.
