I'm hearing a lot of conflicting info about these guys. There was the uncle who called them angry losers but some other family members are saying they are shocked and don't believe these guys could do this. For the younger brother, aka Suspect 2, one of his high school teachers said he was popular and well liked in high school. Tamerlan, aka Suspect 1, was a Golden Gloves boxer, going to community college and also married with a daughter. I am hearing conflicting reports about whether his wife had converted to Islam or not. One aunt says that she and the daughter were Christian.

 

Sure - it's harmless. It's also pretty much based on nothing of substance. Might as well guess they are aliens here to destroy the world. All people are really doing is showing their own biases. People who want to defend Islam are coming up with theories that support that. People who have issues with Islam are see that. If you're predisposed to think "lone wolf", you see that. If you're predisposed to be concerned about a broader plot, you see that. This isn't based on evidence - this is all people seeing what they already expected to see.

Besides, the same nonsense (look, a backpack! guy looks suspicious! he's not watching the marathon!) is what led to two innocent Moroccan kids to get plastered all over the news and be afraid of getting shot for no reason. Or looking at grainy photos and deciding that a missing kid is probably the bomber. Or on and on. The internet did massive "research" looking for the suspects and found all sorts of targets but not a single place found the actual bombers. Their odds with motive is about the same.

Say what you will about ATW, but he is freaking committed to his cause of linking any disturbance in the world to Islam.

Mods should change your title to "Muslim Hater" although "Resident German" will work just as well.
