Since so many people here like to talk about T-Mac only fans, Lin only fans, Yao only fans.........we should talk about Harden only fans. Clearly, this thread is a 100% proof that many people here are NOT Houston Rockets fans, and are instead in fact James Harden only fans.

Lots and lots of HOFs here.

Was I asking him to win a championship? NO
Is this a championship caliber team? NO

All I'm asking is for some manner of stepping-up for big games.

But yea, take my point to the extreme to set up a straw-man argument.

The team needed him to step up the past two games and he failed to deliver. He takes up the most possessions and he needs to use them wisely. Im very disappointed but he is still a top 10 player.

Harden is definitely overrated at this point. He is a one way player who has a ton of turnovers. He's been inefficient of late as well. That said, if he improves his defense he is a legitimate Top 5 MVP candidate. I think the main problem is the coach isn't reigning in Harden enough

You are right. Harden, like 99% of the 23 year olds in the league already do, needs to step up for big games. If he isn't doing it by now, he never will.

Why do you keep building straw mans? He never said Harden will never get better.

Oh okay, so you meant he needs to carry the team against every tough opponent, while being the focal point of their defenses, all while at the obviously veteran age of 23. I guess his 26-5-5 averages aren't good enough anymore, he better hit every big shot in the clutch as well. Damn shame he isn't a perfect player yet.

Yep. Exactly. It's pretty clear that there is an enormous group of Harden only fans here, that place their fan boy idolatry of Harden over the Rockets.

You know it's getting bad with Harden groupies when people so staunchly defend him and call out others, for simply complaining about him hogging the ball for 20 seconds, then throwing up bricks, or passing off.

Or for him piling into the paint and knocking down the defenders like he's a bowling ball heading into the pins, and nearly every time in truth committing an offensive foul.....and then complaining to refs and having this baffled look on his face when he did not get his 15th trip to the free throw line in that game.

Or for complaining about how he can not play defense on a single possession in an entire game.....

For people complaining about this kind of selfish and loser type of stuff by Harden, a whole bunch of people here are getting ticked off and calling people trolls, and ridiculing them and everything else. Or the good old, "obviously you are a LOF" nonsense - which it is pretty clear to me at this point that's just a built in excuse used by HOF to make excuses for him.

Yep, it looks like Harden fan boy worship has taken over here, and that the good of the Rockets is of no actual real concern for Harden fan boys, as compared to Harden's scoring stats, or whatever.

I thought everyone on CF was agreed that Harden is a superstar, no?

I only have the kind of expectations that come w/ that label. Am I asking him to be LeBron? NO. Just asking him to step up once in a while.

Am I asking him to step up every f-ing game? No. Not even every big game. But honestly, the last game of the regular season, to determine if 7th or 8th? Yea I expect my "superstar" to step up.

If that seems like high expectations, maybe just continue to masturbate to box scores in your dark corner.

The media exaggerates everything. In that sense, Harden is overrated. But he's still good, and has a bright future, especially considering it's his first season as a starter. We are just not playing in the right way. I blame the coach more than him.

*sigh* "The good of the Rockets", we made the playoffs finally after missing for a couple of years, largely in part due to his play. So how exactly is he hindering us again? What exactly more are you expecting this first season.

You do realize he has done exactly what you just said you expected of him. He has stepped up big in plenty of games this season and in his very young career overall.

And you act as if clutchfans are the only homers who view harden as a superstar. Espn just ranked him the 8th best player in the league. Zach Lowe who almost everyone views as an extremely credible and knowledgable analyst had him 5th in MVP and he openly acknowledges how terrible harden is on defense.

Face it, you either don't like the guy or your expectations for a young up and coming superstar playing along an extremely young team are completely out of whack.

I will now go back to whacking it to box scores.

This is ridicoulous. Some of you fans are talking absolute bulli**** and nonsense. Harden is superstar. Every player gets bad games down the stretch. You should be thankful for him to have rockets even in the playoffs. To say something blasphomey as that statement, shows yall have no knowledge of basketball.

Me too. About ten games back he actually passed the ball to Asik who was at the 3 point line when the shot clock was way down. The other team's commentator said why is he doing that? What is Asik going to do with the ball. Against PHX he passed the ball to Lin with 3 seconds left. What a buddy.

Harden is "overrated" in a sense that his fans think he's the ONLY reason why the Rockets are in the Playoffs.

Let's not forget - Houston Rockets are the 2nd highest Scoring team (averaging 115+) a game. Harden's average is 25ish. There's still 100 points unaccounted for.
