No one was saying that Lin should be absolved from any criticism - he played poorly in the 4th and OT. Other posters here make good points and you write them off as LOFs without offering anything useful to the discussion, just name-calling. Anyone with two eyes and who understands basketball could see that McHale coached a very, very poor game last night.
As for McSuccess, it's hilarious to see the reversal in conventional opinion after an embarrassing whooping on National TV. That non-rockets fans and talking heads who don't give a **** about the Roxs hype McSuccess out of ignorance and of respect for his HOF status is one thing, but that McSuccess has to somehow outdo himself in sheer stupidity for Roxs fans to finally come to the same conclusion as Wolves fans - that McSuccess absolutely sucks - is a complete travesty. All the recriminations commonly levelled at McSuccess were in full display: (1) Disrupting the play of his starters by way of BS rotations. LOFs have long complained, rightly or wrongly, that McSuccess will pull Lin out for random reasons. Remarkably he did it twice in this game and made him ride the pine for 10+ mins each time. (2) Not understanding the definition of "spark" by riding bench players for far too long. Obviously, he does not understand why bench players are actually bench players and not starters. (3) Not running actual plays beyond "read and react" aka players making it up as they go along aka not running any plays at all. No discipline, no consistency. And of course Hardenball, which brings us to the next point: (4) McSuccess is the only coach in NBA history who actually always decreases the uncertainty of his team's play as seen from opponents point of view by calling a TO - a TO being traditionally viewed as a way to keep opponents guessing about adjustments. McSuccess TO = Hardenball; often and damningly featuring the same way to inbound the ball and get it in Harden's hands in successive plays. (5) Now, time for my pet peeve: small ball lineups. Who honestly did not foresee Delfino guarding Pau Gasol. A 6.6ft SF/SG guarding a star 7ft+ PF ? This certainly makes sense, in McSuccess' world. Unfortunately, all Roxs fans live in McSuccess' world just like a 7ft Turkish bloke who is actually one of the best defenders and rebounders in the NBA and is forced to watch his teammates get destroyed on the boards and in the paint. The crazy thing is that this state of affairs is not the result of D'Antoni actually going big due to the Roxs going small but the contrary. (7) Disingenuousness and stubbornness in stupidity put on display by a coach who publicly chastised one of his own players for home-run plays and call a time-out to "draw" the mother of all home-run plays: IsoHarden...watching his team fail at Isoharden for 10 successive possesions prior to said TO obviously did not deter him. Way too crafty, McSuccess! All those grievances have been pointed out during the season but anyone who actually made them was branded LOFs freshly off a Chinese Junk and in response the high BBIQ posters on clutchfans made the now infamous McSuccess for COTY thread. Owned by their own BS, hung with McSuccess unfashionable tie, there is the sorry predicament of MOFs / LOHs. Meanwhile, the T-wolves still roam the NBA wilderness in the guise of the scapegoat sent by McSuccess to appease BBALL gods.
I would say the same to you but there's likely 10 dudes waiting outside of her bedroom. Your mother has been passed around the hood more then a crack pipe
Sorry, my fellow Rockets fans, Having read some more comments about our dear Mchale, I will have to say a few more things here. BTW everyone is entitled to their own opinions and there is no need to agree with what I am gonna say. We all know, except some superstars like Kobe, Lebron and a few more, all players(not just in NBA) always have to listen to and follow coaches instructions and game plans to play their games. No players can or dare to make their own calls on the court regardless of how they may not agree with their coaches. Do you remember the game the Knicks playing against the Raptors in last season? Lin took a look back at D'antoni for getting a permission to make his own call. Eventually Lin did play ISO and hit the game-winning shot. Again no players would make his own call on the court without their coaches consent. Let's just talk about last few Rockets games, it was obvious that the 'only' game plan Mchale had was to instruct Harden to play ISO one after another one. If Harden was hot, he would probably hit all those shots and got us some wins. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. This is somewhat pointless to blame it all on Harden. As I said, Harden is not yet big enough (maybe in the future) to call his own play on the court, then please let us know who would be the one to design those "ISOs" especially in the 4th quarter that is usually the most critical moment in a game. Yep, that's right, none other than Dear Mchale. How often have we seen a scenario like this? Lin seemed to be playing well and helping the Rockets in the 3rd quarter in a game, the he was benched starting around 3-4 minutes left until he was put back again with 4-6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Lin is a momemtum type of player who goes off and keeps running until end of a game. That was how he played and was played in the Knicks under D'antoni. However in here it is like you start off an engine and it seems to be running smooth, then you turn it off and restart it later again. What do you expect, especially this is a new engine? . In the Rockets, when he was playing well in the 3rd quarter (often the Rockets was leading) and then was benched for no obvious reasons. He would then be put back late in the 4th quarter (often the Rockets was from leading to losing). Don't take my word, the season has been played and you can find plenty of those games in the internet to review. For god's sake, he is only 24 and not a 40 years old PG. Can Mchale ever once try to make some playing time adjustments for letting Lin play through the 3rd quarter into the 4th quarter when the team is leading or he is playing well? (Yes, He may have done a couple of time). What I mean here is to make it regularly and consistently. Trolling will not be called 'trolling' if it doesn't come with negativity. Objectively speaking, Harden and Lin have done their duties fairly enough and have led the Rockets into the playoffs. They both had ups and downs but did do their share. Personally I don't mind or care you are LOF, LOH, HOF, HOH or whatever, I can live with that. It is understable that why there are fans who hate LOF, LOH, HOF and HOH. It is just among fans. Please bear in mind that what fans say will have absolutely no impact on how players play their games. If they had to keep checking how their fans say about their games, they might as well quit their NBA for good. Trolling is always part of the game and is existing not just in the Rockets fan forums but elsewhere as well. We just don't pay attention to others as it may not concern us. I started watching NBA when Patrick Ewing was drafted by the Knicks, when the Rockets won those 2 championships with Olajuwon. However I have never joined any NBA forums or whatsoever until this season of NBA. Even I was a big fan of Yao's, I still didn't join the clutchfan forum. All I did was just reading comments from it. This season it would be interesting to watch Harden and Lin with the Rockets, so i am decided to join the forum. Sometimes label those members who join the forum this season as LOF etc may not be as correct as people think. Trolling is always around the corner regardless. Therefore just remember no argument is a strong argument without proven or substential facts. In NBA games, there are more things to be taken into consideration when it comes to objective comments. Box score is not the only thing to base on. I think I have made my point and shouldn't be writing more. You be the judge. BTW, there will be a lot missing points here and there, your understanding is greatly appreciated. "We didn't have ball movement and sticky" when your game plan is ISO one after another one?
Agreed. would rep if i could. for me it's a great defensive coach. this offense can run itself, it's lacking discipline on the defensive end.
bad choice. our coach shouldn't be able to dribble the ball better than our guards! (i couldn't help myself.)
Congratulations to our PG James Harden for leading the league in turnovers. Also congrats to JLin (position unknown) who led the team in assists.
It's so great to see a young Superstar evolve before our eyes and drag us into the playoffs. Harden is awesome! Lin should practice his shooting all summer.
Guess you didn't realize 2nd half of my comment sound too sarcastic? Problem wasn't Delfino at 4, problem is he has to guard Gasol while he can't make any shots anyway. He wasn't stretching anything. If he was making 3s, with his range, Gasol would have to step out, but that wasn't the case last night. While on the other end, Delfino was torched by Gasol and someone else had to double team, and our defense just fell apart, and this was happening with Harden/Lin on the bench.
The way he's played the last 2 months he shoudn't even be starting. The team is better without him. To be fair though with the right coach he could become a superstar. Right now he's a liability - mostly due to coaching.
The only superstar part about Harden is his ability to draw fouls. His game has been figured out in all other aspect. Even drawing fouls he is no longer efficient as before and his ISO game is liability to the team flow. I hope it is all due to his recent injuries, not because he's been exposed.
Harden needs time to adjust. He can not use as much as europe steps to draw the fouls now. He is getting hurt from that easily and frequently.
I am simply livid with McGenius tonight It has nothing to do with Lin/Beverly. In fact, I didn't mind their minutes when there were two clearly more evident screw-ups: 1) Small-ball at the beginning of the fourth quarter going with Delfino-Smith against Jamison-Gasol-Howard. Predictably, the Lakers killed us on the boards and got in the bonus a couple of minutes into the quarter. And of course, it cost us the lead. ...Now thinking about it, I am just at a loss for words. When it happened, I was screaming at the screen, which I never do. ...I think these few minutes cost us the game 2) Genius playcalling at the end of 4th and in overtime with ISO, ISO, ISO, etc. with the usual outcome being a contested three. McHale has to go.
Harden has superstar talent when it comes to scoring but I agree, the way he and the rest of the team are being coached is potentially a detriment to both Harden and the team based off the way the offense has been handled this first season.
