McHale is a HOF player. Get that through your thick skull. He failed miserably with the T-wolves and is bringing the same losing mentality/coach skills to the Rockets. Your moronic ass would rather worship a HORRENDOUS NBA coach who lets his star player iso for 20 seconds and then pass to teammates and leaves them out to dry than give the benefit of the doubt to an always-improving PG with a team-first, winning mentality. Gotcha. Btw, with the talent the rockets have, we're good for at least 6th spot in the playoffs. It's not BECAUSE of mchale that we're 8th. It's in spite of his crap coaching. The asswipe needs to go. Btw, his daughter's death has no bearing on his employment as a head coach. If a personal tragedy happens to me and I become a crap doctor, do I get cut slack? Gimme a break.
This is hilarious. Blame everyone but Jeremy Lin because he's you're idol. Truely pathetic you worship an NBA basketball player
We had stretch PF, we had freaking Del3ino. He's our best stretch 4 yet. Who cares if he has to guard Gasol, he opened up lane for Harden's ISO. Harden's unstoppable ISO.
There is a vast difference when you are covering a 6'7" guy at the 3pt line or a 7' one. You can be much closer to the lane and still effect the shorter player....a taller guy keeps you more honest. DD
Where in the post did you see I worship Lin? Your the one worship McHale and failed attempt at bashing Lin. Lin's defense has holes last night but it was hardly the reason we lost.
As time goes by...the players who have played with tremendous amounts of freedom will start resenting the Head coach for not "spreading the ball" and not having structure...The anger we have for Mchale not being able to involve other players on our team is just going to permeate through the locker room...and players arent gonna trust each other...and do whatever they want when things go south... Thats what happened last night... Harden did whatever he wanted as opposed to giving the ball to a really hot Parsons or letting his PG create a shot for him...Parsons and Asik were playing well together on the P and R...and the defense was collapsing on Parsons...the Head coach should see that and demand it... It angers me that Mchale decided to have our best PandR players on the bench at the same time...If your going to pull Lin at the 6 min mark of the first quarter...you better damn bring him back at the start of the 2nd quarter...I personally dont mind that kinda rotation at all...let Lin and Beverly start the 2nd and give them freedom to do what they want...Then bring back Harden at the 7-8 min mark...and let him go all out... The Key to seeing Harden succeed is allowing him to create and then have someone else create for him...If you have ever seen harden shoot a set shot, I dont really remember him missing much...However, I have seen a ton of misses as he tries creating his own shot...THATS ON THE HEAD COACH...if he doesnt see what we see, then why is he coaching this team...My patience with his incompetence has completely worn out...a season and a half of games that lacked discipline, proper subs and concise play execution cost us playoffs one year and playoff positioning another...I would be the first to rip on players and their effort, but everything I have seen in Mchale's tenure has shown me that he doesnt put his players in positions to win. He just hopes for his players to deliver...
my first post in this thread because i didn't want to overly criticize especially when I've seen only 3 games this year. but OMG that end of game play calling and execution was absolutely horrendous. I was shocked those types of plays came out of a timeout.
Howard isn't leaving. Not after that performance. I'll take SVG, trade for Ryan Anderson and sign Toney Douglas and Al Jefferson.
Thank you! The close out distance is way shorter on Delfino. Even if he recovers and get's a hand in his face, Dmo's release point is much higher.
Give me any coach that preaches defense. A true mentor to this young team and someone who won't be afraid to get in player's faces, especially James Harden's.
THIS. Plus DMo has a quicker release and is actually quicker with the ball than Delfino even though he is 5 inches taller.
I've been back and forth on McHale, but he's starting to make me think he's not the guy long term. He was talking again about the ball getting 'sticky' again and pushing the ball before the defense is set. He's got to realize in the playoffs, you're going to face better defenses that scout your team pretty good. You can't just expect to run and gun to a series win. Good teams have to execute in the half court when it's tight and teams turn up the intensity. I swear I thought he was actually calling for all those Harden isos, which honestly I can live with, but realizing that's not even what he wants, but it's the result of confusion, lack of preparation, players resorting to their own devices, it's not really acceptable; especially with a young team. They need to learn to execute plays. Mistakes are fine as a young team, but lack of direction is not good. I'll still give McHale a pass this year and look forward to see what he brings next year, but he better work on his game as well this offseason.
