That got us into foul trouble having delfino fight floppy gasol for position, if smith was out there, smith would have already had position.

Couldn't agree more. The fourth quarter is all about earning your points. Nothing ticky-tack.

That foul on Delfino was complete BS and had nothing to do with who was guarding him. Ref didnt even blow the wistle till he saw that we had the steal. The guy wasnt gonna let us get the ball.

This game was lost in the fourth Q when McHale didn't substitute the starters back in immediately. Left beverly out there by himself with no Lin or Harden who got 2 quick fouls, left Carlos out there on Gasol & went small with bench guys when Dantoni had his starters in & LA had all the momentum. McHale is consistently a step behind other coaches, Hollins, Dantoni, Karl etc.

Rockets is going nowhere next year, if Mchale remains to be the coach. Mchale is old and stubborn, he never learns from his mistakes that has cost us the game again and again. Rockets deserves to have a better coach.

    This is hilarious!

Clutchfan's complaints that I have seen tonight:
    Lin sucks!
Harden sucks and is holding Lin Back
McHale needs to use his bench
McHale played the bench too much
Parsons sucked in the 1st half
Parsons was the only guy that played worth a crap tonight

No one mentions that LA stepped up their D drastically in the fourth (with a couple no-calls that helped them)

What about our bench scored 14 pts. 14? Unacceptable Beverly should of stay. Greg smith played awesome even tho gasol had a triple double. Our bench sucks plus our threes join wide open shots after anther bricks and bricks. Good dimes tho. Playoffs are here guys at least we are in its been 3 years technically 4.

Agree. And they went ISOs for the last 15 or so possessions, in vein.

^This. Harden didn't perform that game, and Asik has sucked for the last two. It was said repeatedly that a Spurs match-up would be best, but now the reality of a difficult OKC series is just beginning to sink in.

    1. Agree
    2. Agree. Asik/Smith/Delfino all played badly
    3. Harden and Lin were okay
    4. Harden/Lin/Parsons kept this from being worse, but it doesn't make up for most of the bigs under-perfoming.

We slowed down the game in the second half. I give credit to improved defense by the Lakers, but I think it was mostly our fault, not their merit. Held the ball too long instead of continuing to run. Then we stopped getting calls when Lin and Harden penetrated.

Thought we would win in overtime, but oh well...

Sad thing is that I really think we had a chance of beating the Spurs. Or at the very least get 7 games of playoff experience for this young team.

Now we are facing a likely sweep. Hope we can steal one of the first two games and have a chance at a miracle upset.

    1) Iso ball when Harden couldn't throw the ball in the ocean from the beach.
McHales has to learn to pull the plug on this when Harden is off his game.
    2) McHales substitutions????? Delfino on Gasol???
    3) Lakers defense played great

Awful coaching all around though this is just to be expected at this point. The favoritism shown to the Lakers by the refs was another culprit (Harden was obviously fouled twice by Dwight late in the game) but that was also to be expected. Lin didn't have a single redeemable moment in the 4th and overtime so I guess I'll go with that.

Obviously the refing last night was one of the worst all season, but both small ball and ISO ball really killed us last night. And the most upsetting thing is tht we didn't have to go either route. This late in the season you'd think McHale would understand that you don't give up half a foot to Gasol when you don't have to. And you'd think the players, namely Harden, would understand the importance of ball movement. Very unfortunate collapse last night. We controlled the entire game...until we didn't.
