what happened with a few minutes left in the third quarter that the offense suddenly halted and reverted to the iso of mother isos half way through the 4th? it wasn't a coincidence.

I'm pretty sure Delfino wasn't dying to guard Gasol in this game.
    IMO it's:
    1. McHale
    2. Refs in the 4th quarter
    3. Harden/Lin
    ......
    9000. Our front court/bench
    9001. Parsons

    1. Mchale
    2. Harden excessive ISO ball then passing off to his teammates with 5 seconds or less.
    3. Small ball. Putting delfino on gasol while smith was on harden while asik and dmo were on the bench is the height of arrogance and stupidity.
    4. Substitution patterns. Lin was orchestrating the offense well finished with 8 assists yet he was benched almost an entire quarter between the 3rd and 4th quarter. We lost the lead when beverly was running the point with harden and lin on the bench.

Beverly starts doing well finally then gets yanked and puts a ice cold Lin who has been sitting on the bench for almost an entire quarter.

    COACHING, COACHING, COACHING.

All you posters trumping how great of a coach mchale is are now pretending to be in the same boat as those who have seen mchale's ineptitude from the very beginning.

You aint fooling anybody. You know who you are.

Parsons didn't show up in the first half. Our front court didn't get a rebound. Our bench lost the lead. I agree with first 3.

    Many, many reasons.

Horrible lineup to start the 4th, although it is our usual lineup, we should have adjusted to their big frontline.

Ticky tack fouls called within a short span changed complexion of the game.

No ball movement in the 4th quarter (Harden, Lin, and even Parsons were main culprits).

    There you have it, folks.

I don't really understand the knee-jerk reaction by everyone. Put everything in perspective guys...

    1. Its just one game, and while it would have been a great win, it wasnt a must win.
    2. Harden struggled late, but still had 30/8/3. He doesn't "suck"
    3. McHale took a team with only TWO players from last years roster to the playoffs, he's not a terrible coach.
    4. We are the youngest team in the league, youngest to EVER make the playoffs. There's gonna be some late game struggles with a team this young.

Everyone just needs to chill out a bit. This teams future was not decided tonight. It's not like we would be the favorite against SA (thanks JVG for the false hope). We have a 23 year old superstar, the future is very bright!!

It's always one game if you don't count the previous games. You must always chill.

It's not just that we lost the game, it's the insanely stupid strategy that led to the loss. It's one thing if you're team is just not executing the offense, or is having a bad shooting night, or has no players that are able to defend the opposition...but when you're running a flawed offensive system, put much smaller defenders on All Star Big Men when you have size on the bench, and refuse play your players to their strengths, then you've got serious cause to worry.

So your telling me that, putting Carlos Delfino on Pau Gasol was just "well, we are the youngest team in the league, dont blame Mchale"

Everyone knows you dont put delfino on gasol, either of them, and many have pointed out, Mchale has. That right there, JUST THAT RIGHT THERE is a reason to fire someone. Morey should storm the practice facility, take the ball from the assistant coach whos performing Harden iso drills, and tell Mchale he is done. Call Jeremy over, and tell him this is what a basketball looks like.

It was 'one game' too with phoenix, it's 'one game' today, and with OKC is it going to be 'one game' again until we get swept?!

It's one thing to be up against a good team and lose playing our best, but it's another to be up against a good team, be beating them for the 1st half, and then play ***** and LOSE because of dumb coaching decisions.

Mchale and his iso ball and bad decision making by Harden and Lin for holding onto the ball. Parsons was the only one looking to make a smart play. Their was no offensive scheme late in the 4th. The defense was lack luster in the second half. The Rockets are gonna get dropped in the playoffs whether they would have played OKC or SA.

McHale. His r****ded subs and rotations have been severly limiting the potential of this team. We'd be 5th or even 4th seed if we only had a smarter coach.

How does a "failed offensive system" lead the league in scoring? Offense is what got us to the playoffs!

I don't agree with putting Delfino on Gasol, but it's not what lost us the game! Gasol didnt take advantage of it offensively, he just made the right pass to get someone else an open look. It did hurt us on the boards, but Gasol was doing the same thing to Greg Smith. We dont have the personnel to match up with two 7-footers like Gasol and Howard.

As hard as it is to see during the season, this team is going nowhere but up! We have a solid shot at being title contenders next year. NOT this year. And McHale has played a major role in getting us in the situation we are in, which could be a very good one next year!
