Kobe wasn't even playing. Yeah suck it Lakers we bumped you down one seed take that revenge for 2009 yayaya. Don't get me wrong people are just freaking out like we just got eliminated from the playoffs or something. Its just one seed
There is no ballmovement at all when Harden has the ball. When he is outside the 2pointline he goes ISO and hold the ball waaay to long and when he drives, he forces the contact, which the refs will not call anymore if he is the one initiating the contact. He makes a few bad decisions like throwing lob passes to Asik, which Asik can't catch. He doesn't move very well without the ball, probably because he is too tired to move around too much. And his D just plainly suck... Keeps on ball watching and not watching his man. He should play about 30-35 minutes not 40-45 minutes a game, playing so many minutes for so many games makes him less efficient.
man, im not gonna quote all the numbers, but i posted in another thread that the entire team shot an atrocious 8/29 from 3-point-land. would have helped to make a couple more lol
Kobe in general, I guess you dont watch much Rockets basketball. And btw this game was for SAS, or OKC. OKC > SAS so SAS would be better for Houston, but im sure you know that already, and im sure you dont really think its just "one seed on the line"
ISO ball against good defense means dribbling down to the last sec and making bad passes that lead to turnovers or passes to shooters who have to rush their shots. ISO ball down the stretch = bad recipe for the playoffs.
mchale's rotation sucks. harden iso is TOO predictable. lin went cold. but both harden and lin's problem stems from mchales inability to run plays and his trust of PB and distrust of Lin. truly mind boggling...
Should just count the hold ball for 20 sec and pass it out as a TO. Would've easily been another 30 point 9 TOs (minimum) game
There is a lot of blame to go around but this really isn't about tonight's game. The Rockets haven't looked good for weeks(lost 4 out of last 6 - mostly all winnable games). I'm not really sure what to make of it. A few semi-obvious points: - McHale's substitutions have been head scratchers to say the least - the playbook after an entire season seems to be getting smaller - not larger. - Harden seems to be using the ref's star treatment as a crutch. He seems to be looking more and more for the foul than the shot. - the team clearly was coming apart at the seems - particularly tonight. McHale didn't seem to have command of the huddle - players walking off before timeout over and seem to be tuning him out, arguing with each other, etc. - lineup has been in flux all season and even rounding into the playoffs we are still trying out new things. I'm not complaining about Jones' emergence, but you gotta think handing him significant playing time a couple of weeks before the playoff starts is going to change a few things about knowing your teammates and it must create at least a little jealousy in the locker room right when you need your guys to band together. ....I'm sure there are others I am missing but you get the point. The Rockets just look like a mess heading into the playoffs. Losing to a Laker team who have two guys who would be starters on other teams and the rest are more or less scrubs has to be the lowlight if not for the fact we recently got outplayed by the worst team in the West. Going to be an ugly playoff series...
What do you mean we don't have a chance to win a game against OKC? Are the Rockets not allowed to play them or something?
Serious question. Did we run one legit play the entire 4th quarter? I was watching and never saw not one.. just straight ISO I guesssss that last play to Asik at mid-court and onward to Delfino for the miss was a play but it didn't work at all and even then it may not have been a play, it just had a few similarities to one.
Holy **** the referees were outrageously bad this game. Not that I am surprised, we never had a chance to win this game anyway. Could have hit 45 threes and we would have lost. The refs were determined to make it happen. The Lakers were in the bonus with about 9 mins left in the 4th quarter. At least 3 of those fouls were terrible BS calls... Again, not surprised...
#1 was coaching. #2 Our bigs were getting out played/rebounded #3 Harden and Lin played bad. Chandler was the only one who really kept us in the game.
Heres the thing, we play a free flowing offense, we free flow, create, if that doesnt work, it becomes an Iso play. But when it becomes "Sticky" there is no ball movement, no free flowing, reading or reacting, it stops, defense sets.
- The Refs letting Howard do WHATEVER he wanted on both ends -McHale being an idiot -Harden being an idiot
