    My cousin's wife is from this town. Just heard her parents home was leveled, but her family is okay from what I'm hearing.

    Not sure if they were home at the time of the blast, apparently lots of people left when they saw the fire.

    I heard four blocks around the plant were leveled.

    I'm hearing 60-70 dead. Unsubstantiated though.

    Not sure if correct.

    Prayers to those affected. I know the town of West very well. It's a Czech community about 15-20 minutes north of Waco on I-35. A great restaurant called the "Turkey Shop" is there and there are really good kolaches in West - with NO sausage you ignorant idiots...;)

    Death toll seems to be rising. I just read that the nursing home near the plant collapsed, and most there are presumed dead. I hope this doesn't get much worse.

    Once again, the nursing home thing is not confirmed.

    Wow that's unbelievably awful. A huge chunk of that town -- it's a small place and I'm sure everybody knows somebody dead...if not many people dead.

    this is so, so terrible. really puts this (very exciting) game in perspective. honestly when i read about the size and force of the blast, i immediately thought to myself that everyone in that plant could have easily died. i've driven through west plenty of times, great little czech town. hope they find survivors, but it doesn't look good. :(
