He also says Barkley was more athletically gifted than MJ. Sounds crazy, but not if you remember he was only about 6'5.

and also..doesn't food poisoning make it worse than just the flu? So it elevates the story..

I thought this was old news? Already been reported a long time ago.

Oh and there's no way in hell Barkley was more athletically gifted than Jordan.

I don't think someone that was there ever came out and said this specifically. I think there was only speculation, but isn't there always, when a star player gets sick the night before/of an away game?

I googled it before posting and everyone reporting it was treating it like new information.

I could've sworn there were reports that came out a long time ago that it was food poisoning indeed. I didn't know it was from delivery pizza specifically though.

I had never heard this. I always assumed it was just too much alcohol.

Conspiracy much? the team had a doctor and diagnosed him with the flu, instead it was the fault of the pizza delivery guys....

    Agree. I think it's a ridiculous claim.

What is ridiculous, Grover's claim that he was poisoned on purpose or that it was food poisoning and not the flu?

If Jordan was fine and 3 hours later was in the fetal position, that doesn't sound like the flu. Maybe they just spit on it and it happened to be bad pizza, also.

While it might be a conspiracy, one has to remember, it is Utah. They are scum.

    Who knows..........

The bottom line is that it was arguably one of the most triumphant acts in the history of sports and I for one was astounded at the level of play exhibited by MJ.

I would be VERY cautious if I was a player on a visiting team of ordering food at diff places. Players always seem to pop up with food poisoning on important games. Wouldn't put it pass a crazy fan or immature teen handling food. Yuk
