"The S stands for hope" thing was COMPLETELY cheesy and dumb IMO, but damn...other than that what a great trailer. Really looking forward to it.
I don't think that track is the theme... and I do actually like it. Because it's different. Finally, something that sounds different from the traditional Star Wars-eque brass or the loud "boooonggggg" sound that's become so popular.
I am kinda ambivelant on that...they basically lifted that little aspect out of where they got a lot of the source material for this movie in Superman: Birthright.
Trailer was very impressive after the first few which didn't do much for me. I just hated Sucker Punch, so I hope Zach's well past that stage.
Looks good. They didn't show much of the villain at all in the trailers. They should have luda-style hip hop music during the action parts of the trailer. Tight sauce.
Those doubting Michael Shannon will change their tune once they see him in the film. He is a great actor. Trailer looks ok. Will see, but I've never been a huge Superman fan.
Superman is a tough hero to do well because he is so powerful and his weaknesses are so minimal that you really have to be creative or limited in your choices to make a challenging foe for him. Most stories seem to reduce his weakness to kryptonite and Lois as the only things that slows him down. Typically if the villain needs kryptonite that usually means they were seriously outclassed without it, and the fight scenes are very limited. Trailer looks good though.
Yeah, in the 1st C. Reeve movie, kryptonite was the problem. In its sequel, Lois's ***** was the kryptonite. Speaking of kryptonite, now that the Spurs signed McGrady, I hope we draw them in the first round. McGrady is kryptonite for his own team. But I digress. Trailer rocks.
No. It's taken from Lisa Gerrard & Patrick Cassidy's Elergy and from ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE soundtrack. <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Z4PqWjug1Jg#t=5" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SMZUfUtIBH0#t=648" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Yeah he's a good actor. I haven't heard of people doubting him as the villain though. For me, my doubts is with Henry Cavill as he doesn't look very Superman-like. I'm used to the Christoper Reeve and that Routh dude. Their frame fits better for a Superman... Cavill seems more like Dean Cain in terms of body frame. Doesn't seem as tall and have shorter limbs. But that's just me... even in the cartoons superman is more like a Christopher Reeves.
The Christopher Reeves Superman completely defined Superman for a generation from how Superman looked to even the crystalline structure of Kryptonian architecture. With this one it looks like there is a deliberate attempt to get away from that with a much darker looking Superman. Thatfits with reimaginings of other genres. For example the redone Battlestar Galactica was much darker than the more bright 70's look of the original down to how the ship looked. One thing I would've liked to see them save though is the John Williams theme. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AGUyNy07ZYg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Although I can see it not fitting with a darker more nuanced Superman.
