When the Spurs tanked they brought in Dominque Wilkens from another league. He actually played pretty well. Maybe it's a sign of tanking to come.

Is Duncan gonna turn MerGady into an allstar just like how the latter turned Stromile Swift into one?

tmac played well in China. He's explosive again and will contribute for the Spurs. The guy is only 33 years old. Still a baller. Great pick up by the Spurs!

As much as I really hate how Mcgrady finished his tenure here, that is one basketball experience I will NEVER forget.

Sitting in the suite at the Toybox with GladiatorRowdy, we had already almost accepted the loss and were resigned to losing to the Spurs once again

    and then IT happened

The single most incredible display of desperate defense and cold blooded shooting I have seen in the 35+ years I have been following NBA basketball.

While it wasn't soley Mcgrady as his teammates helped get the ball back so quickly so he could drain another three....he was the one who sank those insane shots and won the game...I can never truely dislike him because of that and the good times that did happen during his time here.

If only that last year in a Rockets uni hadnt happened...

rockets2k, i'm glad you're grateful for all the great memories t-mac brought to our organization. i, like you, remember exactly where i was and what i was doing during that epic game.

if only everyone else was as good of a rockets fan as you.

I won't hide my disdain for the guy but I'm not going to hope he "Fails" because that would just be petty. That is unless the spurs are going to be playing the rockets.

TMAC will for ever be an enigma for the city of Houston...he had moments of triumph and moments of total failure...TMAC with Kobe's desire to win wouldve been one amazing NBA star...but for TMAC...its all mental...his gift of playing the game is so rare, that people actually love seeing it...its effortless...his vision, his height, his swag are the things we admire...the only thing most fans question about TMAC is his desire to play the game at a ruthless level...he has shown many instances early on in his career...but as losses and failure have accumulated, he has taken on the persona of a guy with all the talent in the world that just accepted his fate...he never wanted to achieve greatness...and because of that we will always feel cheated that we had arguably one of the best players to put on a Rockets uniform, but never achieved what we all wanted for him...

TMAC will forever be known as the " Great What-if"

Yeah... what a roller coaster ride for him in a Rox uni. He gave us many great memories... only to flake out in the end.

It's like a hot secks session but couldn't finish at the end.

He looks like he is in shape. It would be nice to have him backing up harden so he can rest. He would also take delfinos minutes when he is struggling.

Oh well. Anyone think he was showing interest in signing with the rockets when he came to that home game after his seson ended in china?

I honestly think T-mac will actually be able to make a contribution. Spurs have a great system for role players to fit in and do something.

But yeah, his whole career was about unfulfilled potential. Something he's got to have regrets about. But that's on him.

This is another setup by the NBA. The Lakers will be setup to win and face the Spurs. Then they force the Spurs to sign T-Mac to ensure they will never make it out of the first round.

    Conspiracy all the way! lol

The Greatest "What if" in Rockets history was Ralph Sampson.
We got to the NBA Finals with that guy.

LOL why do you consider that as the ultimate throwing under the bus comment when Barkley said Yao Ming would never score over 10 pts his entire career and that Dream only won rings because MJ retired? I'm not even sure why you keep this burning obsession of hate on Tmac, the dude quit on us his last year but he desperately wanted to remain a Rocket, he had that surgery as move to not get traded from the team, and he had nothing but good things to say about his teammates like Yao Ming.

I'm not even sure where he threw the Rox under the bus here, the Spurs are indeed one of the few teams with a winning environment. As you have pointed out numerous times, all of his teams were first round fodder at best.

Maybe we should give Jackson a look, just from a defensive standpoint he brings more than Anderson at the SG position and I think he has just enough nastiness and attitude left to give this team a little bit of a mean streak. Having him and Harden on the floor at the same time could work too...
