That's because the Yankees spend twice as much as anyone else, just imagine a magical world where there were extremely punitive measures for trying to outspend your opponents, and they were forced to spend +/-$10m compared to all their opponents, how do you think that would work for the yankees?

While I agree that LA will always have an advantage in attracting free agents, if LeBron stays in Miami in 2014 then what free agent is available that's better than Harden?

There isn't one, and I don't think anyone can see Lebron ending up anywhere outside of Miami except Cleveland, hell even the Miami fans wouldn't be angry at him for that (i remember reading their thoughts and en masse it was something like "I'd thank him for the championships and wish him the best, anywhere else but Cleveland though and **** him" lol).

I hear a lot of people here clamor to 'wait for the 2014 FA class' and I'm curious as well; outside of LeBron, who is even likely to leave their team?

Noteables that will be re upped by their teams. Lillard and Paul George and possibly Bledsoe

    Eto
    Wade lebron bosh melo amare

Rudy gay, Bryant, gasol, Duncan, deng, kg and some other not so coveted free agents.

I think it depends on what the heat do. If they stay or they all split up. That and a lot of these older players may retire so I think this upcoming off season is the most important.

You can't just give a player of his caliber an iPad and expect him to sign...you have to give him two.

If Dwight sign with the Rockets, we would automatically win all games next season because Harden and Dwight would foul everyone out.

Yet the refs would probably still screw us over just because Charles Barkley and ****in A Smith hates Houston.

Wade - Staying with the Heat
    LeBron - Miami or Cleveland
Bosh - Will follow whatever LeBron does (he rejected us once already)
Carmelo - Resigning in NY (rejected us once alrady)
Amare - Do we even want this broken down player?

So...I just don't see the hype. Unless we were Cleveland.

Isn't Kevin Love a member of the 2014 class? Pretty sure he has a play option that year.

    1) The Yankees don't spend close to twice as much as anyone else
    2) The Yankees won 4 world series titles from 1996-2000 where their payrolls were close to the rest of baseball (within 10 million like you suggest), 1 of those where they weren't even #1.

Miami will probably need to let Bosh go, but I wouldn't pass on Dwight to get Bosh. That's crazy talk.

There won't be a free agent for YEARS that's as good as Dwight outside of Lebron.

Can anyone provide some numbers on whether the Rockets can sign Howard and still keep Asik until they get a good offer for Asik? Im hearing mixed responses on the net regarding this...some have said that we have to clear another 2mil in addition to the expiring ones and not picking up the non-guaranteed contracts besides Parsons in order to keep Asik and Howard(signed to max obviously) w/o going over the cap....others have said that we can't do it all w/o going over the cap ...anyone with clear numbers on this? Thanks.

Btw, i hope we do get Howard, but that sure is alot of money he is giving up if he does...i guess we'll know if he really wants to win a title or just the money.

I don't think Howard will consider Houston unless we miraculously make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Dwight is going to resign with the Lakers. It's time for people to realize that.
