I am looking forward to the movie but it is taking forever to get through the second book. I am not looking forward to this movie like I did the first.

IMO, the second book is even better than the first. If you're having trouble getting through it, then don't even bother with the third book. The Hunger Games series felt to me like 5-6 book series squeezed into 3. As much as I enjoyed the first two books, the third one is just downright terrible.

Yup the third book is horrid. If you already started the 2nd book, just finish it and stop there.

I really liked the third book. The ending was rushed, but I really liked everything else about it. The way it ended was very bold, and I appreciated that.

Not nearly as bad as what I'd thought it'd be but still very uneven. In order to make it work on screen, they definitely have to make changes. Ending was pretty good but absolutely hated one part.

Looks like it might be better than the first one.

Battle Royale was pretty awful...absolutely no character development. I didn't give a damn about any character in that movie...a lot of killing, which was ok.

Also the story was pretty bad too.

Hunger Games at least makes you care for a few of them and you hate a few of them. There are emotional ties and it's sort of believable.

The Hunger Games movie was pretty disappointing though, compared to the book.

From what I remember the movie for Battle Royale didn't compare to its book either. I'm now looking forward to Catching Fire, because this trailer reminded me about parts of the book that I really enjoyed reading. What's wrong with the Finnick casting, except that he doesn't look too aquatically focused.

Have they stated that this is only going to be a trilogy?
    Series spoiler:
Because it seems a lot of this film is going to focus on the buildup to the games, and this or the 3rd could be a really long movie.

3rd book will be broken up into 2 films. They will be shot at the same time starting in Sept.

And I just thought Finnick was a bit older than Katniss. They look about the same age here. I was thinking Ryan Reynolds-ish.

This was a damn good movie. It didn't even feel like two and a half hours.

Got invited to the midnight premier a couple nights ago. Watched the first one the day of and thought it was just meh. Not bad but not really good.

This one however was a really, really good movie. I was so surprised at how good it was. One of the better films of the year IMO.

I had high hopes for it and while I wasn't blown away there was nothing at all wrong with the film or changes from the book (of which there felt like there was little). I'm surprised there's so few posts about it.

I went with a cousin who hadn't read the book and he suspected Hoffman was a double agent the whole time. I remember that Kat's dance with Plutarch held a lot more hints than what was filmed. I ain't even mad at the closing shot. I thought it was corny at very first, but I bought into the whole change of resolve in her eyes.
