yeah i see this at times as well. looks more like a chemistry thing. on the other hand, he doesn't see the ball much when both harden and parsons are in the game; he just tries to stay out of the way and create space for them. the three of them have the potential to be very dynamic, but the chemistry still has a long way to go. lin is a very different player when he is in control and knows what he wants to do with the ball, be it scoring or passing. without the ball, he just tries to get out of the way and create space by camping at the corner. similar to harden, except harden doesn't really create space for others... he just stands there... parsons is great at moving without the ball. harden and lin, not so much.
That's what he did in the 4th quarter, and we went from down 2 to 8 in less than a minute. He should have started the 4th with the same lineup as the 2nd imo.
Yeah, instead they let him go and still have not found a replacement for him at PF position. Most on bbs were sure that Scola was holding back players like Patterson. Oh well live and learn.
After reading this thread in its entirety I tend to agree. I think Lin is a decent player but after 50 posts of some people telling us how fantastic he is and how all the negatives fall on Harden and McHale it's hard to be objective. I chalk most of it up to high emotion but damn it's brutal in these game threads. When Lin plays well it's hyped to no extent, when he's off it's blamed somewhere else. When Harden goes off another group gets going. It's silly. When Harden sucks it's time to pile on. If I wasn't able to watch the games I might have drawn some interesting conclusions: 1) McHale is either a decent coach or a complete moron who knows nothing about basketball. 2) Harden is the superstar of this team that causes us to lose by trying too hard or not at all. 3) Lin is the real motor of this team and should never be on the bench, ever. 4) Lin is also terrible. 5) Harden is allowed to be horrible because McHale sucks so bad as a coach he doesn't know when to sub him out. 6) Lin sits on the bench during crucial game minutes (see McHale sucks). 7) Lin would make every shot that was not passed to him during clutch time. 8) Harden is either told not to pass or is deaf during the clutch time. 9) LOFHs troll LOFs, HOFs are trolled by LOFs and HOFH cancel out LOFHs. a. This is all moot if you've started posting before 2011. 10) No one plays defense ever but T-Jones blocks shots on occasion. 11) Lin is spelled with lots of "N's". Kinda funny now when I read it :grin:
Yeah as a person who watches the game because Lin entertains him, I tend to like to see objective opinions on him. Maybe I'm just weird. I'm not even going to pretend to be a real Rocket fan, but like they said. If you love/like someone, you gotta like their family too.
I think the main problem with Harden is he deliberately forces being the star. 3 on 1 fastbreak, Harden missed open guys atleast 3 times last night. Not sure where he gets authority to take plays off on defense but my guess is Morey gave him the greenlight over Mchale
he's not a long term solution and too pricey and inflexible on a short term. he's probably a good solution for THIS year but we're not trying to win this year anyway.

It's hard for me to be mad at Scola for very long, but I am kinda ticked he tried to take a reckless charge on our super star and having it possible injure them both. He clearly wasn't able to get in rhythm after that collision.
