Maybe they went off earlier than expected. Maybe he had a hard time getting out of the crowd. Maybe he didn't think he was in range. Maybe he was willing to take damage to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was willing to die for his cause. Who the hell knows? Right now we don't have nearly enough information.

I'm sure being from Saudia Arabia on a Visa contributed to the desire to search his apartment.

There are several conflicting reports about him and what type of injuries head but one of the comments I heard this morning on the news was that he had burns on his hands. That said all the reports agree that he was injured.

[rquoter]John Miller, a CBS News special correspondent and a former assistant director at the FBI, confirmed Tuesday that the Saudi national was interviewed along with all other victims. Rumors about him began flying not soon after the bombing from various media outlets, which were put to rest with repeated updates from authorities at multiple press conferences.

"The Saudi national is ... here on a student visa. He was at the scene along with many other people when the blast happened. As everybody is standing in shock, three Boston PD detectives see this guy moving quickly out of the crowd. As they're watching him, he seems to be moving very deliberately away-- which could be a very natural thing after a bombing-- they stop him because he's covered with blood ... they think he may be injured ... they engage him, they start asking questions ... they arranged to get him to the hospital," Miller said.[/rquoter]

It's bull**** how everyone must know the guy's name and race. How is that fair to him?

whatever. I'm upset the dude is still out there. I was really hoping I was wrong yesterday and that I was going to wake up to some good news about the suspect being caught.

I think we need to focus on arguing with each other much more in these tragedy and disaster threads. It's good for honing our debating and discussion skillz.

I want to organize a salon in my neighbor where as soon as a tragedy unfolds, we all meet with our laptops and twitter accounts to "discuss" and "debate" the tragedy in real time, instead of letting the news settling and having more insight for a salon meeting later.

I don't understand what you're even arguing. That they questioned a person with no reason because you say that had no reason?

It's bs. The man had to let people search his house to clear his name because he suffered burn marks from an explosion. How many people were burned from that explosion? Then the media releases his name and his nationality while he is in the hospital being treated. How is that fair to him? If they're going to do that then the headline should read man with burn marks due to being near the explosion is being questioned. That's all it should read. No name, or nationality needs to be given.

It wasn't fair to Richard Jewel either but that's the breaks. It's not like they brought out a paddy wagon and rounded up all the middle eastern people.

That seems a rather convenient excuse. I mean every other person who retweeted or otherwise shared this guy's name and pic could just say "well the damage is already done".

So does that mean he was holding the bomb while it went off?
I have burns on my hands too, that's because I crossed over PfTompfsk at the Rec at UH on every iso play...

Debating innocence, guilt, and motives at this point = height of stupidity.

LOL you are talking about the "MEDIA". What do you expect with this time and age with all the Facebook, Twitter and Youtube? It's all about getting hits/views. I don't even think it's even a bad thing. It will make people think twice and feel a bit more at ease that it wasn't a Middle Eastern terror attacking. Well at least for the moment.

How is this even possible? Would the person(s) really be so stupid to leave the f-ing trigger on the scene? The media and their "sources"... God help us.
