I like the timing of the games on Wednesday. I think the Jazz lose against the Grizzlies, and we should know that outcome before the Rockets/Lakers game starts. If that happens, the Lakers will know they are in the playoffs, and may play with a little less intensity. Either way, I think the Rockets find a way to win this game.

It's a longshot to make it pass the first but the point is to extend a series and get this group (who is the least experienced team in the NBA) to play some playoff intensity games.

Are the Grizzlies playing for anything?

Despite all the talk about who we would like to face in this years playoffs (would much rather face SA/Den) but I'm just thankful about the fact that were in the playoffs for the first time in 4 years.

the people, the media, the NBA management and the refs will be on the lakers' side. the 1st 2 won't make any impacts to the game but the latter 2 are a different story. if the refs lean just a little on the lakers, the rockets are in dangerous of losing this game. sometimes fairness in NBA is not good as you think in NBA. just a conspirarcy theroy for this game.

Curry went nuts and the Warriors still couldn't fight off the 50 FTs.
The Spurs also bowed down to the best sixth man on the Lakers.
With NBA's love for drama, the sixth man is going to show up in the last game so that Harden can go against his former team in the playoff and the Lakers can avoid being swept in the first round. So sad...

I am too but if you have a chance to position your self in a better spot why not go for it?

Will we get out of the first round? Probably not

Can we extend the first round series to 6 to 7 games? 100% if we get the right team

More games means more experience for the youngest team in the NBA.

Man I hope we win against the Lakers for the sake of momentum into the playoffs. Starting to feel like the Texans end of season run where we were losing down the stretch. I believe we also needed one win to clinch a seed lol

Oh yeah by all means definitely! However, the one thing I've noticed is that in most of our "must-win" scenarios...we've fallen flat on our faces. Im hoping for a victory tomorrow but I dont see it happening IMO

Im just finding a silver lining here because after missing out the past few years, Im just psyched to be finally in

All eyes will be on this game especially Magic Johnson and his homerism throughout the pre game, halftime, and post game programs.

I hope the Rockets pull it off just to see and hear Magic Johnson comments.

He'll blame it on Dwight not being a superstar.. And if Dwight goes for 20/20, he'll blame it on Kobe being down...

    +1

Playing OKC would be ideal in terms of giving us the best measurement of where we truly stack up against the Elite. OKC is the team to beat now and for the forseeable future so it will show us how good we really are and what areas we need to improve upon.

We'll also get to see how big or small of a gap there is between Kevin Durant (2nd best player in the league) and James Harden. I personally think these playoffs are really going to be Harden's coming out party on the National level and he will be elevated to Elite status and considered a superstar by the time the playoffs are done (win or lose).

I haven't had the time to go through the thread. Just wanted to ask what is Harden's condition for the Lakers' game?

The Rockets have been up and down the whole year. Typical for a young team. However, on nights they were fresh and well rested, more often than not they played well and blew teams out. So I think rest is more important than whether facing the Spurs or the Thunders. If I were McHale, I would rest all starters against the Lakers.

Unfortunately, we are not looking too good recently. I think we will mail it in tomorrow and lose to Thunders 1-4 in the first round.

I disagree with the notion that a quick swift kick in the ****s by facing a team like OKC is a measuring tool for the Rockets and their team...they should know that they are underdogs, and should just focus on playing team basketball...The more you make it about Harden vs OKC...the more Harden's gonna wanna play hero ball...But the most dangerous version of James Harden that OKC wants to see is a player that gets everyone equally involved...I truly believe that that version of James Harden is what helped propel the OKC ahead of the Spurs last season...

Besides...no one thought that Dallas crumbling to GSW would ever happen...but it did...in 6 games (i think)...So remember...we have to just play ball and let the chips fall where they may...

I still though want to see the Rockets beat the Lakers though...No nash and No kobe, should mean that the Rockets should make it living hell in the paint for Dwight and Pau...who cares if they whistle us constantly...I just want to see a competitive game down the stretch and I really think James Harden can be the Xfactor down the stretch...
