Nothing is wrong with that except the assessment. IMO, if Lin were to lead that group, he would be putting up much larger numbers than Gogi. Of course, it's neither here nor there cuz Lin is a Rocket and Gogi is not.

Lin was terrible as was Harden. Pathetic showing from both.

I only saw the first half, but it appeared the Rockets were basically cruising, putting in little to no effort on defense and hoping to just outscore and go home; and for a team that has their number and motivation like the suns/rox cast-offs, that's a ticket to an ass-kicking.

Makes you want the ChuckWagon back.

One of the WORST coached game of the year by anyone in the NBA.
To have your top 2 scoring option sit for the first 7 minutes in the 4th quarter in a close game is INEXCUSABLE. A 6th and 8th seed are BIG differences. I can't understand how a coach does NOT know this, unless he's so out of the loop as a coach.

Lin had a good 3rd quarter, it keep the rockets in the game. McHale sat him towards the end of the 3rd until 4 minutes left in the 4th.

    ???

Lin had a BIG 3rd quarter which keep us in the game.
McHale sits him for the first 7 minutes of the 4th quarter. INEXCUSABLE.

I hope he's letting us fan know that coach McHale is the issue.
Omer played only 14 minutes last night. The number 2 rebounder in the NBA played 14 minutes last night versus a below average rebounding team.

Again, a good coach don't let the other team dictate what you do on offense the ENTIRE game. You play your strengths...PERIOD.

Carlos Delfino, James Anderson and Francisco Garcia deserved more playing time if anything.

After Harden hit his knee, he was awful. Either the injury was too much to play through or he just gave up on the game. Either way, I definitely support benching him for a good chunk of the 4th quarter - especially when the wing reserves are playing well.

I liked Lin's effort, but he was outplayed by Dragic. That's ok; I have thought all along that Dragic is the better player. But I did still like seeing Lin play aggressive. We will need that.

And it is very nice to finally have a shot-blocking presence in TJones. I'm surprised it took this long for him to crack the rotation, but now that he has I see little-to-no playing time for DMo and TRob.

All in all, I wish I hadn't stayed up to watch the game. Just a waste of my time.

I missed the game last night, but I was shocked when I saw on my phone the final score. Why did Asik play only 14 minutes? Foul trouble? That's like the 10th time that Houston lost to sub-par team this season (ex. Wizards, Raptors, Twolves, Sixers, Suns, etc)

Against WC playoffs teams the Suns have as many wins as the Rockets - 9.

    lol. of course he did.

there was a sequence of three plays in a row where our pg set up smith for a nice layup, it was blown. then, a nice set up for a wide open 3 for chandler and harden, both shots were missed. On the other end, whoever dragic was passing to, he was making. harden nowhere near his man, neither was our power forward. the PF and the SG positions, offensively and defensively lost us this game.

I don't buy this mode of thinking. Winners set new goals after achieving the initial one.

I know the loss last night was painful. And I really don't want the Rockets to play OKC in the first round either.... BUT. I'd rather the Rockets make their mistakes in a Suns game, than during the playoffs.

McHale has been a good coach for the team this year, but he has his weaknesses -- relies on Harden too much, keeps a squad providing a spark in for too long, leaves his starters out for too much of the 4th quarter. Harden, for his part, can take too much of the load -- not distribute as much as he should ... Yes. But maybe having these things happen now will make the Rockets better able to deal with adversity in the playoffs. The important thing is they are in the playoffs.

It's a very good Chandler and Delfino seem recovered. It's very good we don't have to deal with any more B2B's this season. And, I didn't want this outcome, but it does make for a very intense last game of the regular season.

And all of that is very good experience for this young team. This year, that, more than winning, more than whether they are 6, 7, or 8 seed, seems to me the important thing for them.

They are in the playoffs, they are going to get playoff experience against a very good team -- one that has done this many times before, whether OKC or Spurs. They will get better.

The ball runs through him and he's the number one option/playmaker/ball handler. Things have been great for Dragic since Gentry got fired.
